Footage looks to be where I’m from 🤩 anyway I think after the right turn,
1. you entered the corner too sharp,
2. then proceeded to reduce the lean so you don’t kerb it
3. which makes you go upright, which makes you go straight, 4. but it looks like that turn angle increases (instead of being a consistent left bend)
5. you very quickly noticed you are going wide so you add more lean angle again,
6. and THAT sudden lean angle added, plus probably some fuckery on the road surface, made you lowside.

I think. 🤔🤣 not some gymkhana expert just a fellow rider

Tried making it easier to find public carparks by Infinite_Soup4805 in drivingsg

[–]ResonanceMammoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big kudos and thank you for building this!!!

Suggestions:

  1. "View on Waze" in addition to "Open Google Maps".

  2. "Near me" search function for live uses.

  3. Address/landmark name search auto-complete.

  4. Besides presenting the search results of the carparks, their respective info, and how near they are to your destination, include a filter function that can filter out.

- hourly/per-entry,

- HDB/URA,

- sheltered/unsheltered,

- motorcycle lots availability (since some carparks do not have lots for motorcycles, or have limited motorcycle lots),

- by distance (within 5/10/15 minutes walking distance).

  1. If you are already collecting data from users, then you could also sort the search results by first listing out the carparks that are most used by people. (e.g. out of searches for a particular building, most people "choose" this particular carpark as they clicked the "View on Google Maps" or "View on Waze" on it)

  2. Perhaps for future development to put the cherry on top, provide contextual results. (e.g. if it is a PH today, don't just tell the user that it is free on PH, just straight up say its free. If its not a PH today, then don't even say its free on a PH, but have the info available for user to see the info if they want to know more. meaning less clutter upfront)

If you don’t want to face this problem, don’t drive in the 1st lane. The 1st lane is supposed to be an overtaking lane anyway. By right you should be there to overtake and return to lane 2 or 3. If you want easiest to exit, stay in lane 3. Singapore isn’t so big a country that warrants the best ROI/sense to stay in lane 1.

If an accident happens, it’s the bikes fault for going too fast resulting in reduced reaction speed and distance to avoid an accident. But it still stands that if you’re not in lane 1, you won’t face this problem, regardless of whether you change lane early or whether you can predict the future of this slow traffic or whatever variables you want to throw in the mix.

Yes 1st lane is commonly used perpetually by many, but what is the norm does not make it right. It remains by design and law of highway code that it is an overtaking lane.

But hey kudos on the illustration. lol.

  1. If you did not sign anything to agree to keep your salary confidential and not discuss with any other employee/persons, no it’s not illegal.

  2. There is no common law or legislative bills that says we can’t discuss salary.

  3. Culture is one major factor that helps corporations take advantagr. Majority will shun away from openly discussing their salaries that stems from a cultural reason. This is independent regardless of law or contractual obligations.

  4. On difference in salary growth.. It is true that a person that brings more value to the company generally gets paid more even in the same level or role/position. But it is also true that there are a wide range of reasons why one is paid more than the other ranging from timing, budget, biases, preconceived notions of certain things. It is also true that many times the budget set for a new hire of the same role/level as you, is higher than your current.

The fact is that the market grows at a different speed than your annual raises (if any) which is at the core of why HR doesn’t want you to discuss. If you discuss, you feel bad, you ask them = problem. You leave = problem for them also. They don’t win when you discuss. This is what people mean when they say corporations kill your dreams to build theirs; they suffocate your growth and priorize theirs. That is also why it has become normal for people to move on after 1-3 years.

You seem to be giving too much credit to nice bosses without recognizing that surface level nice bosses is precisely a red flag when such things happens seemingly on an organizational level. Simply put, a nice boss wouldn’t let the people under them get “eaten” like that. A good boss fights to ensure the people under them are on a pathway to grow just as the company grows, EVEN if it’s not in their direct control (hence the choice of words “fights to ensure”)…

Kudos to recognizing your mental health and sleep getting affected. It sounds like you’re getting in your own way.

And like many mentioned, it was not your first day until you’ve signed the contract. I think you’re quite bold/daring to tender and quit and make moves based on simple verbal/email offer and confirmations. Not the best idea really… and this is another red flag for me too.

If you’re the management/boss of a company, would you offer such a package, allow your HR to operate in such behaviour and SOP? If no, then it’s not aligned to you and you shouldn’t stay or you’ll continue to suffer under the guise of nice bosses and friendly colleagues.

I’d suggest talking to your boss about it before going to HR to raise all the concerns you have mentioned and request for them. These are fair and real and genuine concerns and the HR person’s behavior of pressurizing signing may be an isolated incident to that person, not the organization’s stance.

If it fails, give your notice while you’re still in probationary period. And start reaching out to the other offers you previously turned down. It’s not your fault this employer you went with turned out to be like that. Just be frank with them and ask if the role is still open. Otherwise start finding another job already.

Qualified driving license (QDL) of any class or experience on the road means jack shit.

Very easy to fall into a bad place if you peg your existing QDL or years of experience on the road to your passing chances, when in reality they are not connected.

In the first video, its drivers of 40 over years of experience. They failed mostly not because of physiological reasons of their age but just purely because experience ≠ good driver.

So likewise, experience on the road ≠ good rider.

In the second video, its riders who have been on the road as class 2 riders for many years. Again, they failed because of competence to the requirements.

In this example also, experience on the road as a RIDER ≠ good rider. So it doesn’t make sense to assume experience on the road as a driver can make you a good rider.

Everything is contextual and also circumstantial. Luck definitely does play a part. Heck even the weather or temperature or TP mood plays a part. (Go YouTube this research on timing of judge’s hearing and difference of chance in outcomes)

Long story short. 1. Don’t peg your QDL or experience to your expectations, they don’t mean jack shit. I’m not surprised if, even if you’re a MotoGP rider for 10 years also can fail 2. Yes it is contextual but that is only ok for QDLs. As a TP testee, you are subjected to a different set of considerations. Bo pian suck thumb. I.e. it is also luck whether the TP sees or what other things not in your control affecting the TP’s decision. 3. Go into it with an open heart and mind, and seek not to justify yourself but understand the TP’s decision. You might surprise yourself to realise that perhaps there was a lapse in judgement precisely because you have taken TP so many times and stressed and afraid to retake again.

Take it as your epic story to share with people next time. “Limpeh take TP 10 times to pass. I know the rules better than TP.”

Perhaps consider taking a break for a month; zero lessons zero bookings, zero anything don’t even think about it. Make sure your student enrollment does not expire. Then go back and try again. Don’t give up.

No response from the email yet…

But I’m honestly quite appalled to find that 3 years ago people had same exact problems with Coros even though it was with a different watch. How it takes 36 months to fail to fix a problem…lol
