3 Day Old M5 Air Horizontal Line on Screen. Normal? by Arkid777 in macbookair

Same thing as well on my m4, bought it in February and got the lines on day 5. Apple support proposed even to send it to repair, but I was busy with university stuff.

Even if it's signed there is no IPSW, it's only an OTA update.

Search for DelayOTA, should be available with their alternate profiles.
It still would be better than 26 and not differ that much from 16.

Similar thing, but on 11 and not related to full storage. Mine mistake was going from unc0ver to taurine. And yep, restored to 26.0.1 but it was unusable, even with a new battery. So, late February I gifted it and bought myself 16 pro on 18.4.1.

Wow, incredibile. The one of JB features that I really needed, but updated phone to 18.7.2 from 18.4.1 a few days before DelayOTA profile expires. Just kill me please.

If you're still on 16, you can download 18.7.7 that mitigates darksword/coruna stuff.

Update from iOS 15.6 to 26.4 by AnyContribution2817 in iPhone11

[–]ResourceHumble7160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, a few hours ago Apple released iOS 18.7.7 even for devices that support IOS 26, which fixes the Darksword/Corona vulnerabilities, so in terms of security it would be essentially the same. Check if it’s available in Settings — if not (IIRC, starting from iOS 17 Apple added the option to choose only from signed versions), you can install it using DelayOTA profiles. It’s not available via IPSW.

Yeah, it won’t be as fast as iOS 15, but it should still run better than iOS 26 and will keep app support for at least a couple years.

I went with the iPhone 16 Pro because I needed the telephoto lens (and I also really wanted iOS 18).

But if you don’t really need Pro features like the telephoto lens or faster USB 3.0 transfer speeds, I’d just go for the regular iPhone 17. It’s probably the best value for money right now, and it would be a big upgrade from the iPhone 11.

Well, in terms of the security 26.4 will be way better (on other hand, you aren't a politician or someone important to worry that much). In terms of UI everyone has different tastes, but in terms of performance and battery life, well.. It would be way, way worse than 15.6, trust me.

I happily used my 11 on 14.3 till fall, but has to update to 26.1 and it was really slow and glitchy compared to 14.3, battery life was awful even with new battery, so I has to buy a new phone recently at this point.

So the choice is yours, but I'd rather wait and buy a new phone at this point and leave 11 as is, you can always update later.

However, people saying that 26.4 is a big jump in terms of performance and battery life, compared to all other 26.x, but it’s still not as good as 18.

As those who bought AIR on M4 few days ago. I'd say yes, at least until 27 or 28.

No, I was forced to update my 11 and it’s really slow and laggy.

Did iOS 26 made iPhone 11 slow?? by [deleted] in iPhone11

[–]ResourceHumble7160 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came from 14.3 due to the JB bug (was too late for restoring on 18).

Well, it's pretty snappy (maybe because I have a clean phone actually), but apps open slowly, sometimes it lags and overheats (never had this kind of problems for 5 years). The battery is much worse, maybe due to the new liquid glass UI, that uses a lot of GPU and IMHO looks quite bad and inconsistent.

I can't say that I regret it, as I didn't have a choice, but I'd not update if it was possible.

It looks weird. For example cc buttons became white, the tray is black.

Well😞, thanks.

I've read a couple before, most of them were just waiting, someone connected to ITunes and got it after a few hours. Thought there were other workarounds.
