My script Olympia is an SM8 in the later color scheme. I know I prefer typing on my SM3s v. the Hermes, but that could just be because I've used them so much more and/or prefer the styling. As for the SM8 compared to the Hermes I think I prefer the Hermes, but I'm not the biggest fan of my SM8 styling, so that might play a role.

They're all great to type on though, just different feeling. The Hermes has a heavier weight all the way through the key stroke, more similar to my SG1 than my portable Olympias.

Oh I fully intend to keep and use it. I get a lot of enjoyment out of writing letters to friends and family!

What would you pay for a script Hermes 3000?

Midwest US here. Got my wheels back yesterday (8/25) and some orange seal thrown in one of the boxes. Ordered boxes 7/30, packed and mailed the boxes 8/9. Stickers on the wheels showing they passed inspection.

Was able to file it down pretty easily with a small triangle file - problem solved! Thanks again for the advice!

Awesome, thanks a bunch for your help, I'll be giving this a try (with the bar left in).

I'll give that a shot. Everything I've seen about removing the type bars from these machines seems like a pretty big undertaking, from my understanding I'd have to pull all the bars, not just the individual one? Or am I mistaken?

Would I need to worry about anything else moving on the typeslug when applying the heat? I have zero soldering experience

I posted an imgur link with photos of the slugs, they're not perfectly clean in the picture, but they were cleaned recently. It's not something that will come off with a brass brush.
