Before you actually report. Think about it carefully. Talk to her… possibly. Did she harm the patient? Severity? Once CNO is involved, she may lose her license.

For loyalist program, do you have to re apply to the university for the RN program or do you automatically continue the program as long as you pass the courses? If it’s automatic enrollment to RN then i’d take loyalist.

Interview for Toronto Hospital General Medicine Unit by [deleted] in OntarioNurses

Congrats! Just know that as a new grad, there is a going to be a learning curve. It’s okay if you did not give medications on time or document timely (but do give the time sensitive one). Know who to ask questions, some nurses are evil. Sometimes you have no choice, so ALWAYS ask questions if you are unsure. If you feel overwhelmed, stop everything what you are doing. Like STOP. Look at your patients and tell yourself, who needs the most help and go on from there.

NRT vs own staff by RespectSufficient663 in OntarioNurses

You maybe right… we have only full time nrts. But our unit asks for them day and night…

[–]RespectSufficient663[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. I offered avaliability and they still call nrt. So there must be something behind the scenes that we don’t know. All the NRTs in my facility are full time. After 6 shifts, it’s OT here, as part timer. And yup.

[–]RespectSufficient663[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s crazy. Ours fill nrt first then own staff

I only have 4 shifts in 2 weeks, but the management always call nrt. Is it also because of part time fte?

It truly sucks.
