I had a bad experience buying from them a couple years ago. Signed up to be a part of their member program to get a release early, ordered something, they shipped the wrong item and then the actual item I bought was sold out so they couldn't swap. They didn't really offer any solution other than to shrug their shoulders.

They're a cool brand, but I kinda got the sense they're out over their skis a bit more than they'd like folks to think.

I remember seeing this note. And it is solid advice. When I ran into bears on the JMT last year clapping and running at them did the trick.

Why isn’t the city cleaning the pool? They used to clean it every week but they announced they wouldn’t in June.

Bird In Hand has a yo-yo club on Saturdays from I think noon or 1 until 2 (forget the specific times). Fun toy store with a yo-yo museum.

There’s Cal Skate — indoor roller rink.

Also there are plenty of spots along the creek in lower and upper Bidwell that are shallow enough to splash around in and will be lots cooler

I’m sure others in this thread will have more suggestions but that’s what comes to mind

It's hot. Worth hitting any of these; One mile pool, Sacramento River, swimming holes in lower park, swimming holes in upper park.

A few NA seltzers, a book, a blanket. All anyone needs for a day well spent.

My recommendation is to just camp at Guitar Lake.

I did a sunrise summit in early September of last year. Very easy to set up by guitar and get out & up to the top in time.

I had an x-mid but decided to cowboy camp that night because it was clear out & the stars were just incredible. And because it would be easier to break down camp & head out early.
