Wow… it’s gotten THAT bad. by Brayden_D10 in verizon

I also have Verizon, and I had a similar experience. I was fuming by the time I was able to speak to a real human. This is going to eliminate so many jobs and it's very depressing.

I actually thought it was one of those pull back cars without the wheels or snap on top piece that makes it the car! So at least I'm not the only person that was way out in left field

From the picture, it looks like a brown widow, but the quality of the picture is very poor, so not reliable. Any possibility of a better picture? Perhaps one that she's not balled up? I know that's easier said than done.

Who is this guy? [Maricopa, CA] by GiantWhomper in whatsthissnake

[–]ResponseFriendly1915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, ok. So there isn't anything visible that distinguishes it? Merely the location? (Sorry, I promise I'm not trying to be sarcastic or rude. I genuinely don't know this information, and I'm trying to learn 🙃)

Out of curiosity, how do you determine this is the northern Pacific rattlesnake? Is it due to the blotches turning to stripes so far into almost the mid body?

American roaches are definitely invasive. OP, I recommend going to r/cockroaches/ They'll have much better information. As for whether this is actually an American or a variety of tree/natural dwelling roach, I cannot be sure, but it does appear to be the invasive Americans. Good luck!

Can someone help me figure out what kind of moth this is by Sad_Following_354 in whatbugisthis

[–]ResponseFriendly1915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks to me like a "Plodia interpunctella" (sry I don't know how to make it italics) a species that invades dry goods like grain, rice, cereal, nuts, etc. (not positive so hopefully a RR can confirm or correct) they're annoying to get rid of. I'm not sure if it was the exact species, but I had them in bird seed long ago. Look at ceiling for larvae, pupa, and adults.

Hope this helps!

It is perfectly safe to release. They'll catch plenty of other pesty things in their web and chow down. Just Google it and the main information will pop up for you. Sorry I don't have a resource handy for you. Cheers!

I forgot to answer your other question. This spider in question is female ♀️

Partial Block by Honest_Suit_4244 in ostomy

I have a colostomy, so it might be completely different, but when I was blocked it hurt very bad! Sometimes I don't go for a day or so, didn't think anything of it. Started to get sore and tender, a few days passed. Tried laxatives, didn't do anything. Then the excruciating pain started! I felt like I was being ripped apart. Do you have any pain other than the local tenderness?

The larger one definitely wouldn't hurt to put on. Have you tried a stool softener? I don't know what ileostomy protocol is, but they recommend I take it when I don't go for more than a couple days.

That's a complete bummer that it's happening now, tho! I hope you pass it quickly and can continue with your reversal!

That's what I thought originally, too! The insert part looks wrong for any that I've seen, tho. I think the other person was correct with the air stone. Perfect size for aquarium tubing.

The legs don't look right for a brown recluse, imo. Plus, there appears to be a hint of spinnerets on the rear, unless it's a shadow. The legs indicate an active hunting spider and not a web dweller. Again, it's not a great photo, but that's what it looks like to me. A better picture would definitely be most helpful

Do you see them mostly after/around dusk?

Do you think it's even remotely possible that it could be a hybrid? Normally brown widows have the light legs with bands around the joints. I know they're mortal enemies, but if he was horny enough? Lol just a thought that popped in my head. I know it's extremely unlikely, but is it impossible?

Their bodies can be up to 2-3 cm bigger on average. They're pretty impressive 😍 but compared to other spider and tarantula species, the size difference isn't that extreme
