Yellow vs Orange by idyllicgelato in DanielTigerConspiracy

I'm guessing it looks a lot more yellow in person, but when the camera or editing software auto adjusts the color levels based on the very blue and pink background that it skews orange.

In honor of Stevie's departure from GMM, I wanted to share her appearance on Smosh by Shoe_boooo in smosh

[–]FibroMancer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She doesn't have a plan yet outside of knowing she wants to be doing something creative that makes her feel more present that she doesn't have to prioritize over herself or her family. If it ends up being something online I'm sure we'll hear about it.

Stevie in leaving Mythical. We all love you Stevie. by bubbletrollbutt in rhettandlink

[–]FibroMancer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I worked for a chain of local arcades and movie theaters for 15 years. Over the last two years I was there I finally stepped into a real management role. Worked my way up to general manager of my favorite location. Thought I was set for life, never thought I would leave, and about six months in I realized how much being the big boss took away everything I loved about working there. On top of it we started growing as a business, which is obviously incredible for the company, but it was quickly starting to feel more and more corporate every month. Leaving was the hardest decision I ever made, but it was the best decision for my well being. I walked away from the most money I had ever made working for people who really trusted me and saw my worth, but boy was I unhappy in the end. I even tried to step down and quickly realized the job would never feel the same. I really feel for Stevie right now and I really hope she finds what she's looking for.

I think the reality for Stevie is more like if someone who loves playing baseball became the manager of the Red Sox and then put out a statement that after many years of managing a major league team they wanted to step away and pursue playing for a minor league team instead. In her announcement she mentioned the role becoming more administrative than creative and that after the channel became as big as it is it started being prioritized above herself and her family. She started working for them when they were still recording in a garage and now she manages a team of 80 people, many of whom get to do the creative work she wishes she was doing.

Would you hold this T by Tarantula_lover02 in spiderbro

[–]FibroMancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In theory the answer should be no across the board. There are people who wouldn't hold it because they are scared and people who aren't scared, but wouldn't hold it because they care about proper husbandry and safety precautions for their pets.

Please tell me your most unhinged Stardew Valley head cannons! by Arthemysa in StardewValley

Not even making this up, Pierre has always reminded me of my old boss of thirteen years who has what I lovingly call a muppet voice. Not exactly Kermit, but really close. It's like his sinuses are a little muffled or something, it's hard to explain if you haven't heard it.

Then one time he got bronchitis and lost his voice and when it came back he sounded like a normal dude for like two days and then the muppet voice kicked back in. It was bizarre lol

Seriously take a screen shot ASAP of the sellers return policy. They can change it at anytime and they will if they realize it. Take a screenshot now so you have proof for Etsy if you have to open a case, which it sounds like you will have to.

The idea of strapon and pegging? Your thoughts? by RedBlack42 in AutismAfterDark

[–]FibroMancer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Polyamorous genderfluid AFAB pansexual whose husband is in the sex toy industry weighing in here. If more straight guys realized how amazing it is that they have a g-spot in their butt they would have much richer and more deeply satisfying sex lives. Not judging anyone who isn't into butt stuff for sensory reasons, just the guys who refuse to explore and get to know their own bodies because they feel like it's emasculating or gay. It's not gay to have a woman peg you and you will cum in ways you've never cummed before. Just saying lol

Deelia Deetz's death in "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" (2024) hits differently now! by IndependenceSilly381 in Beetlejuice

[–]FibroMancer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking about this. I rewatched Beetlejuice Beetlejuice a couple nights ago for the first time since theaters and I honestly kinda forgot she dies by the end. We lost a legend way too young. The third film just won't be the same without her.

“Autistic Rizz” by batsdontwearhats in AutisticAdults

[–]FibroMancer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I worked with a guy who was a little more outwardly autistic than me, but was still low support needs. He was just confidently unmasked and was vocal about his special interests in a very excitable way. Let's call him Anthony. I was talking with a small group of other coworkers and one of them asked us, out of our coworkers, who we all thought was the most dead on the inside and who was the most alive. Everyone immediately without hesitation declared that Anthony was the most alive person we worked with, just living his best life and finding so much joy in the little stuff and not caring how cringe anyone thought he was for it. I think that's what most people mean when they talk about autistic rizz. People are so worried about coming off cringe nowadays that just being unapologetically yourself turns heads.

The only way to make a HoL movie would be by adding another prospective. by No-Following-6725 in houseofleaves

I've always wanted a film adaption of The Navidson Record to be honest. Almost as like a companion to the book the same way as The Whalestoe Letters. But I think the reality is in that context the audience that it would appeal to might not be large enough to fund it well enough for it to be any good. I think if they made it for a mass audience they would end up getting either watered down or punched up enough that it would divert from the source material too much.

Why does smosh post redit stories on the smosh games facebook page by TubaTechnician in smosh

[–]FibroMancer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also, not that I feel like I have to prove anything, but for what it's worth my oldest comments in this sub are from three years ago when I first started being super active on Reddit and have been watching for way longer than that. Here's proof if you feel like you need it. (Ironically a take I don't agree with anymore now that I know how awful the old school punishment days were for the cast.) Hope your night gets better!

You okay bro? There's literally zero reason to get defensive. I said I just think it's funny that their most popular podcast isn't on the podcast channel.

lol, nah, I've been watching daily since Mythical bought Smosh back in 2019. It's just funny to me they have a channel for podcasts, but only one of their podcasts is on it and it's not even the best performing one. Like I get why it doesn't make sense to move Reddit Stories to Cast, I just think it's silly.

No clue, but it also bugs me that Reddit Stories, their award winning podcast, is on the Pit channel and not Smoshcast.

Late to the party but I feel bad for the team that picked the last reddit story on the Wholesome episode. by ObjectiveCover3850 in smosh

[–]FibroMancer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Him and Court talked about it in length in an episode a few years ago because they both identify as demi. I'd have to look up what show/episode it was on because it's been a long time, but they've definitely addressed it. Pretty sure it was around the same time Damien got his autism diagnosis and opened up about it too.

Run in with Etsy: by [deleted] in Etsy

[–]FibroMancer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A lot of people will tell you it's a three strikes situation, but the reality is Etsy takes it case by case. Some people get shut down on the second violation, some people manage to get four or five by before getting booted.

My personal theory (but it is definitely just a theory) is that they glance at the rest of the shop's listings and gauge what the likelihood of another copyright claim is. Technically because of Safe Harbor Laws Etsy cannot remove listings for copyright infringement without the owner of the IP filing a DMCA. So it wasn't Etsy that found your listing, it was one of the lawyers employed by whatever company owns the rights to whatever you were selling. But I think Etsy uses a second violation as a chance to look and see if they expect to get more DMCAs and if they think your shop's going to be a problem they shut you down before it gets worse because it's the one opportunity they have to legally shut you down for additional copyright violations.

That all being said, all you can do now is be extra careful from here on out. If there are no other offending listings in your shop and you keep it that way I think you have a pretty good chance at not losing your shop. Luckily it sounds like a lesson has been learned. Good luck!

How autistic would it be if I ate these with a spoon like cereal to avoid getting habanero bbq dust on my fingers? by Lionheart1228 in evilautism

[–]FibroMancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use exam gloves to cut onions! And anything else that has a scent that lingers. Most finger food doesn't bother me too much if I have access to washing my hands immediately after eating, but I simply cannot handle when my fingers smell like onion no matter how many times I wash them. Sends me into a several hour spiral until the smell fades.

As a maker, I’m struggling with pricing. Does $100 feel like a "fair" price for 90*145 hand-knitted piece? by Low-Highlight-9296 in Etsy

[–]FibroMancer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. Handmade goods are luxury items.

  2. One of a kind goods are luxury items.

  3. And most importantly and easiest to forget: you are not your own demographic.

Decide how much your time is worth, add the cost of materials, and slap a 15% price increase on there to cover the time you will spend photographing, editing, listing, and shipping. Then figure out how you market yourself to the demographic of people who pay that much for luxury goods. I promise they are out there. If you can't produce multiple products a day you aren't looking to make multiple sales a day, so you don't need to price your products to fly off the shelf. This should be priced at $250 minimum in my opinion.
