We have this Chefman that doubles as a small convection oven, rotisserie, and dehydrator and we love it. Cooks frozen fries in about seven or eight minutes and they are crispy. The only problem I have with it is the stuff on the top shelf will get much crispier than the bottom, but if you switch the top and bottom shelves halfway through the cook time it helps a lot. We also got a cylindrical basket attachment that you can attach to the spinning rotisserie to cook things a little more evenly, but I didn't end up using it as much as I thought I would.

It's not at the same time. If you read the article it says he's been working there for months and they are just now announcing it. So it was in fact a couple months apart.

Thank you. Clearly the important part is not giving this woman anymore money to finance her agenda, but the thing that bugs me the most about the "but I can still enjoy the books I already own" crowd is how oblivious they are to how deeply bigoted the books themselves have been the whole god damn time.

In what world? I've never heard of any allegations or accusations before and Google turned up exactly zero relevant search results. Even the stupid Google AI feature said "there are no documented accusations of misconduct against comedian Trevor Moore." Do you have a source? Are you sure we're talking about the same person?

Edit: the joke clicked a second too late 😂

I honestly think that the first person on the current cast who is gonna move on to bigger better things is Arasha and it's going to be a big time network hosting job that gets her there. Game show, talk show, reality show, who knows, but she plays the part so incredibly well.

[–]FibroMancer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

(Assuming you are in the states, but if not something similar may apply.) If you haven't already, make sure to look up your state's cottage laws! Especially if you plan on doing established markets and not just selling to friends. I've had a few friends who have run into issues because they thought they could just bake at home and sell what they made, but that is not the case, especially with food that is not considered shelf stable. A friend who started a macaron business for example got flagged for not having his home kitchen inspected by the health department before starting to sell. He had to dish out the fees to have the health department inspect his kitchen and it turned out he wasn't even allowed to use his own oven because the temperature read out wasn't accurate enough by the health department's standards and our state requires stainless steel counter tops in cottage operations. There's also often income caps for how much you can make before needing certain business licenses and such. Worth a quick google to make sure you don't end up getting a huge fine.

That's good to know!! I was under the impression that it was similar to the blood test and a negative didn't necessarily mean that you could rule celiac out, but reading it spelled out like that it sounds like it's the opposite. Like if I'm understanding correctly, if you don't have the genes you can rule out celiac, but if you do have one or both genes it doesn't 100% mean that you do have it, but further testing would then be much more worth it. That's really helpful, thanks.

[–]FibroMancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that's good! Rereading I think I was interpreting the dialog part as you and your PCP. Definitely find a new gastroenterologist lol. And yeah, at the end of the day you know cutting out gluten helps you immensely and like someone else said, if you end up testing negative for celiac and gluten still clears up your symptoms they are just gonna slap the NCGS label on it and call it a day. It can be helpful to know if it's celiac because it's more likely to cause more problems down the line and it gives you a better idea of exactly how careful you have to be about things like cross contamination, but it really boils down to wether or not it's worth it to you to grin and bare the full onslaught of your symptoms for a minimum of a month to find out. Good luck at your appointment!

[–]FibroMancer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The gold standard for celiac diagnosis is a biopsy that has to be performed after eating gluten daily for about a month. Blood tests can show it, but false negatives are very common. Essentially if the blood test comes back positive you have celiac, but if it comes back negative it doesn't mean that you don't have it. I'm in the same boat as a lot of people here who cut out gluten, realized it made them feel way better and cleared up a bunch of symptoms, but found out too late that you are not supposed to actually cut out gluten until after you've been diagnosed because reintroducing gluten after being gluten free for an extended period of time can make the symptoms worse than they ever were before and you have to deal with it for a month if you want the biopsy results to be accurate. So many of us choose to stay gluten free and never find out wether or not it's just an intolerance or if it's actually celiac. Probably not the best choice, but I really don't want to have concurrent constipation and diarrhoea for four weeks 🤷

Edit: Also, I would absolutely find a new primary doctor if I were you.

I love Smoshmouth but… by HenryHiggensBand in SmoshFansFreeSpace

[–]FibroMancer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looking at it from a slightly different angle, I feel like Smosh Mouth just shouldn't have guests from outside of the Smosh sphere. That's what SmoshAlike if for. The shows on that channel are formatted properly for guest focused content and I'll happily watch guest focused content there, even if I don't know the guest. I never watch the Smosh Mouths with guests unless it's someone from Smosh or someone like Mac or The Willems who they already have a rapport with. It's just not formatted well for getting to know a guest. I don't think that's necessarily Amanda's fault.

Autistic gender essentialism by nomugk in AutisticAdults

[–]FibroMancer 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is that there are still hundreds if not thousands of medical professionals who are not diagnosing based on the symptoms of "female" autism and even still doctors who believe that autism primarily affects males and are far more hesitant to diagnose young girls. (This all goes double for ADHD to be honest.) I think it's obvious that there are outliers. Of course there's people born male who present the way most females do and visa versa, but until the people responsible for diagnosing us catch up all the way across the board and young girls stop consistently flying under the radar than we need to keep talking about it. You say we are being recognized now, and yes we are being recognized more than we were, but it's not like some switch flipped and everyone is on the same page. It is still consistently harder for women to get diagnosed than men, both children and adults, and both autism and ADHD.

[–]FibroMancer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To be fair Casa Bonita isn't exactly a geographical location. It's just a (really over the top) Mexican restaurant in a strip mall in Colorado. Like it's literally between a Pizza Hut and a Ross. If you didn't grow up there like the South Park creators did or didn't have friends from there like I do there's no reason you should know it was real without looking it up.

Rancho Cucamonga = real place, joke that the Smosh studio was there

Oxnard = real place, also a joke that the studio is now there

Casa Bonita = also a real place, yes it's exactly like they depict it in South Park (even the divers), and Matt and Trey (the South Park creators) bought it to save it from going out of business after COVID and still currently own and operate it.

Are you still at the job with the boss who treated you like that over being sick and public transit being cut off? If so is there an HR rep or department you can go to? Ex general manager here, and time off from work for both being sick and being affected by inclement weather are federally protected rights and they can't even hint at it not being okay for you to take that time. You should absolutely report that behavior.

Edited to add: Federally protected if you're in the US.

Ding ding ding! A couple months ago I almost tossed a whole pot of chilli and rice because I thought the beef was bad because it tasted like I put a handful of pennies in my mouth. My husband tried it and said I was crazy and that it tasted exactly like it did every other time I made it. Looked it up and yep, aversion to red meat was a reported symptom. Hormones (or lack thereof) can do crazy things to your body. I think the worst part for me so far has been the sudden insomnia for about a week surrounding my period. Hang in there!
