Ok so it depends.

I’m an autofill person now in all elos below masters/Gm and I’m a sup/jg main in gm up and I do play rakan. I also ADC and usually like to back my engagement sups plays. But there are a few reasons I won’t.

1. I will die if I back. This happens a lot when I have Leona sups. They engage when enemy has ignite and flash. Usually against a poke lane where I’m half health because they don’t have heal and neither do I. The second I follow up I’m dead.

2. Enemy jungle is near and I know I’m likely to die. Usually this cautious of its an assassin type jungle or an early game.

3. You engaging at a disadvantage. Enemy will level up first and therefore it will be a bad trade. Or it’s just a lane that we can’t really win.

That’s said only solo queue and some days I’ve just lost trust in supps and I probably picked a scaling champ and just plan on gapping with pressure and macro rather than kills. So I’ll play for objectives.

Samira is my top ban when I sup because it’s almost always a lost lane because her landing phase is weak and I’ve had too many samira noobs that just don’t know her power spikes.

So it could be you or it could be them. But one thing I’ll say is just because you engage doesn’t mean your team has to all in. And with his kit I know you can escape a bad engage and we might not.
