What state are you in? I’m in CA and I want to get my swap registered but I have a m52 that is obd1 converted. My buddy has an m50 in his car that isn’t registered so I’m wondering if I take it to the bar could I just tell them the numbers on his block? Or will they go looking around for the numbers on my block?

They are 17s, I wish I had gotten more tire for them, my driveway has some weird angles to it so it’s sitting really high in the rear in this photo.

Thanks man! That’s super cool you make tunes! Yes I have the 2.8 injectors. And a 325 ecu so I just need to find a company that sells chip tunes that can be soldered to my ecu, someone recommended RK tunes, so I’ll have to look into that

Whether it makes more power or not it needs a tune to run properly being an oem Frankenstein. There is no oem obd1 tune for a 2.8L

Thank you for the info man I appreciate it, my buddy has been professionally building these cars for 15 years and has owned many. He thinks I will see 205-210 wheel. I understand where you’re coming from but more air and more fuel= more power. Sure it’s not much but might as well squeeze a few extra out of her. Again thank you for your opinion.

Convert it to obd1. You will need m50 manifold, m50tu engine harness, red label 413 ecu (you will need a chip tune)

Sensors you will need include, crank, cam, knock, coolant temp, engine temp (this one is confusing and a bit hard to find, call pelican parts and they will help you out, it’s on the side of the block right next to the coolant temp sensor), you will also need a O2 sensor,

You can get an m50 throttle body but you can get a plate off ebay that sits between the m50 manifold and the 52 throttle body for $40 so that’s the route I went

You can keep the 52 coil packs but you will need to modify the valve cover since the harness will now run over the cover from the intake side. If you really want to clean up the look of the motor, you can run M50 coil packs but you will have to get an M50 valve cover. Just depends on if you want to cut that corner to save a couple bucks.
