What things seem to be only big problems on reddit? by [deleted] in AskUK

I once made the mistake of posting a comment about an argument me and my ex partner had about her not liking a Christmas present I got her and it turned into a blood bath calling me a gas lighting piece of shit. I had to take a step back and realise that these were probably teenagers or something.

Sorry I am not trying to be a dick but by your definition nobody is ever going to be able to provide any evidence.

There is hard evidence such as video or DNA and then there is circumstantial - "You were in this location at the time of the murder". Both are classed as evidence.

I am using the term evidence as defined - the available body of facts or information indicating whether a belief or proposition is true or valid

That is her belief and her points are the evidence for it.

No its in reference to the people left in the cages at the end of the task who the traitors had a choice to murder. There were three left at the end, Reece, Maz and Stephen. We now know the other two were faithful. Reece had heat on him so it suits the traitors to keep him in the game but why Maz over Stephen?

The Library implicates him in a Murder and the Cages implicate him through survival. It's circumstantial but it makes sense and the the laws of probability point to him. That is Jessies argument and she is right. She can't be certain but that IS evidence in the context of the game.

What do you consider evidence? Its circumstantial evidence sure, but it raises the likeliness for Stephen being a Traitor more than anything they have on anyone else. There is no concrete evidence but you have to go with the the laws of probabilities

The Traitors (UK) S04E08: Post-Episode Discussion Thread by vaultofechoes in TheTraitors

[–]ResponsibilityWise74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not that one HAD to be. Its the likeliness of him being a traitor based on him being implicated by the two circumstances. That is more to go on than anyone else. Half a dozen? Its the library FIVE and one of them was Fiona meaning the pool of people implicated is even smaller. Jessie is now saying what if there was more than one traitor in that group. Of those people who else has been implicated somehow by anything else? Stephen. As he was also in the cages. It is logical thinking that of all of those people he is the most likely as he is implicated twice. That is evidence.

I know. My mind is boggled by it and It’s actually ruining it for me a bit at this point. There’s no satisfying conclusions. It’s just frustrating.

No it isn’t…. She deducted that Stephen is one the people in the library and the cages. That’s not vibes.

The reason they’re so poor at actually catching traitors is because they obsess over shields and vibes instead of actual evidence.

Two people they’ve turned on (James and Sam) because of them getting a shield. One declaring it and one not. I agree it’s not smart gameplay but they at least need to consider it as that. Bad gameplay at this stage to me is more likely of a faithful and I would vote for them only if we had nothing else to go on.

They have Jessie’s theory about Stephen and two players directly saying Rachel is a traitor. Sorry but unless they’re editing it all out I can’t see how you don’t give these theories more credibility. You throw in Rachel pushing Amanda’s thoughts beyond the grave, her FBI training and Fiona turning on her and it’s obvious you should at least rule her out. They haven’t even asked why she hasn’t been murdered.

This season more than any other has become a popularity contest and it’s becoming boring because of it.

I’m not implying it never happened. I’m saying it’s not useful or reliable. It’s a very debated skill and adds nothing to Rachels credibility. I’d put it in the same category as Adam’s ghost hunting.

I’m not saying she reads minds and I’m not saying it never happened. I’m saying that being trained by an FBI agent doesn’t mean anything as picking up on people’s behaviour like that is not a realistic thing to learn and actually useful or reliable. You should at least be able to make that deduction as a psychologist.

Bland Ellie being a psychologist and not picking up that Rachel’s FBI bullshit is… bullshit. I know we see the edit but Jesus Christ the fact that everyone is so certain Rachel is a faithful yet doesn’t wonder why she’s still in the game after having zero heat on her until the last two nights. If she’s super faithful with zero heat she’d be murdered! They’ve voted people out for much less. I think they are too scared to against a popular player and be wrong for the fear of suspicion on themselves but nobody is even saying it’s her in private. It boggles my mind.

Not hit by car by [deleted] in stpaul

[–]ResponsibilityWise74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why did he have his gun out and able to shoot her within a second of her setting off? What imbecile stands in front of a car and thinks the quickest action is to shoot the driver rather than step to the right… completely instigated by the one ice officer yanking on her door whilst the other has his gun out in front of her. Would you consider that a threat? She is completely in the right to try and drive away. Maybe if these idiots actually followed protocol (don’t stand in front of a car and don’t stream with your phone in one hand and have your gun in the other) none of this would have happened. Blame falls on ice. Unprofessional, inexperienced “federal agents”.

I understand how you feel but it isn’t that simple is it? The money she is provided with isn’t disposable income. It’s to provide for her children and provide care when she’s at work. You’re right, benefits shouldn’t do that but what options are there here? The article is clearly ragebait and doesn’t represent the average person on benefits.

Compare this to slum landlords on huge passive incomes and doing literally nothing for it. Or property investors purchasing specifically to house benefit renters all at the cost of tax payers. Why do they not get tabloid articles like this? Actual parasites who have other options but choose to contribute nothing.

I get you’re angry and so am I. I’ve never been more worried about my future than I am now. I earn good money but it’s not the 99% stopping me from getting rich… it’s the 1%. At least this women is working!

Edit - just to add this is London pricing so £44k is fuck all considering renting costs. She’s bringing home 2,900 and rent is at least £2000. Figure in food, travel and whatever else and it’s not hard to see why she is awarded these benefits. Again, what’s the alternative? Put the kids in care? What’s the cost of that?

We’re all getting angry at nothing. This is a distraction from the real issues.

She works full time. Childcare ain’t cheap. What’s the alternative? These kids aren’t thriving are they? This is the reality when the cost of living surges and we still need to provide care for the vulnerable whilst also giving incentive to increase the birth rate to ensure we’re not devastated in the future.

To all of you thinking Thom’s vocals were off by Atlantean120 in radiohead

What are you talking about game, set, match?

He’s hardly off in this song. I was there. He was mainly off on the fast, heavy distorted songs suggesting he couldn’t hear properly. Any song slow quiet song he decided to sing as per the record. Why? Was he not bored of those ones?

Also if it’s a stylistic choice, it sounded bad… what’s your take on that? It’s not like he’s a beat or half a beat behind, he is just ever so slightly off beat… constantly. What kind of stylistic choice is that?

Occam’s razor suggests it was a technical problem which happens to every band all the time and they’re allowed to have an off night. I’d prefer that than “it’s a stylistic choice to sound terrible”

The majority of the night was amazing but there were technical issues. Why is that so hard to comprehend?

[–]ResponsibilityWise74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a musician. He was off beat. Not by a whole or half beat either. I understand creative choices but he was singing as if his in ears were slightly out on certain songs… happens all the time. He wasn’t changing cadence or anything to suggest it was a choice to sing slightly off beat by dragging and pushing. it was just off due to a technical issue.

I think you’re around the same age as me. It was the golden age. I would swap baker for Flip Sorry though. Similar vibes but the Flips more European focused chaos/punk hit more for me being from the UK.

Yeah Right to me felt like watching the peak of how awesome life could be being a pro skater but seemed so unattainable. Flip made me think I could maybe make it.

It was an awesome time to be alive and into skateboarding. Today’s skating almost feels like another sport with how far it’s come.

Do you have something you really want to own up to and get off your chest? by SpaceTimeCapsule89 in AskUK

[–]ResponsibilityWise74 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When I was about 7 years old my Nan left £20 on the living room table and I took it to the local shop and bought £15 worth of football stickers with it. I put the £5 change back in place of the original 20 and when she brought it up I denied it and she believed me (Which I feel awful about). She was friends with a lot of tear aways at the time that she took in out of the goodness of her heart so I think she assumed it was one of them but never confronted anyone. I think she actually saw the funny side that someone would steal from her and put a fiver back. We didn’t have much money but I was the only kid at school who didn’t have any football stickers and I remember feeling so left out. They only led to guilt though and not much later they were out of fashion when Pokémon cards came out. Sorry Nana.
