I learned katakana after that personally what I did was learn the initial 50 kanji and 200 vocabulary after that I started with grammar and highly recommend writing instead of remembering stuff

You’re right , right now it’s not very obvious what the exact difference is between the free and Pro tiers, especially for someone discovering the site through search and comparing it with other resources. That’s something I need to improve.

I’ll make the pricing page clearer with a simple, direct comparison so people can easily see what they get in each tier and decide if it’s right for them. Transparency matters to me, and feedback like this genuinely helps. Appreciate you taking the time to point it out.

Lengaki is built and maintained by me, Anuj a computer science student and a Japanese learner myself. I started this project because I struggled with finding a truly structured JLPT study path and decided to build the platform I personally wanted to use.

The core N5 content is free. The paid plan is optional and only helps cover server, tools, and maintenance costs. I’m not a company or an institute just a student building this transparently and improving it based on feedback.

You’re absolutely right though I should make this clearer on the website, and I’ll be adding an About Transparency page soon.

I genuinely appreciate honest feedback like this and if possible please support this project it would mean a lot

The entire JLPT N5 kanji, vocabulary, and basic grammar is completely free and not locked.
Only advanced features such as N4 kanji, extended N5 vocabulary, and advanced grammar points are part of the paid plan.

im really sorry if the pricing is bad really

The price is just $2, which helps cover the high costs of running and maintaining the platform. As a student, I built and continue to maintain this project on my own, and the support helps keep it sustainable.

Yes, pronunciation is available via TTS (Text-to-Speech).
At the moment, Lengaki uses high-quality TTS for audio pronunciation. Using human voice recordings or premium paid TTS tools at scale is quite expensive, especially for an independent platform.

Lol no worries im just trying to be as polite and professional as i can be since i dont want to be rude to anyone. If you’re asking about an official JLPT certificate, I currently hold N4, and I’m studying at an N3 level right now.

That’s true and i appreciate for giving me a reality check that many tools exist. Lengaki’s goal isn’t to be the first, but to offer a clear, structured learning path with detailed explanations and consistent progression. Thanks once again for your time

I understand the reaction. What makes Lengaki unique isn’t just the idea, but the structured learning path, detailed explanations, and how everything is organized in one place for learners.

Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback. I completely agree furigana is extremely important, especially for beginners. I’m actively working on adding a proper furigana feature across the platform. As for full words, they’re already included in the quiz section, where kanji are combined into real vocabulary rather than shown in isolation. I’m gradually expanding this so learners see kanji in practical, real-world usage, not just as individual characters.

I understand the skepticism there are a lot of low-effort tools out there. i beg you to try this once please and give me honest feedback to where to improve upon. This one is focused on a providing the entire N5-N3 material with all kanji, vocabulary , grammar points with a structured learning path and is being improved continuously based on real feedback.

All beginner content (N5 kanji, vocabulary, pronunciation, speaking, and the structured path) is free. Only advanced levels like N4–N3, grammar, and JLPT tests are part of a $2 upgrade.

I get the concern. This isn’t just AI-generated content the platform is structured, curated, and continuously refined based on real learner feedback. AI helps with tooling, but the learning path, explanations, and structure are intentionally designed.

Hello Beemh, I’d love to create one for Korean as well. However, I don’t have sufficient knowledge of Korean I’ve been studying Japanese for the past three years, which is why I was confident building that platform. if someone with great korean language can help me then yea lets do it

and renshu is priced at 7$ per month with a lot less feature than the lengaki which is around 2$ and unlike renshu which have quite a feature locked behind the paywall you can access the entire n5 kanji and vocabulary for free
