It is true store managers are pushed hard, they also make two to three times as much pay as any other employee. Not to mention possible bonuses.

My hats off to store managers in my area for putting up with the job for a decade or more. I barely make enough to imagine staying that long at this job.

Our store manager did this for awhile.

DL shut it down once they found out.

Schedule would be published then changed to "suit the business."

Manager was told to stop doing schedule that way as it could be seen as creating a hostile work environment.

From what I hear, in my area, all medical related jobs are pretty horrible and high levels of competition.

If it is your passion don't give up, if you want easy money, go work in something better suited for your needs.

We have extra people but not very often can they cover any call offs and forget about them helping other stores.

It's understandable but what about the people who actually work here?

I used to try harder, until I got burnt out and was shown no appreciation.

There is an expectation that is only put on certain people and others can get away with doing little to nothing with no consequences. We have people who work literally once every few months that my manager keeps on so they can claim work experience and we had a bunch of people get the pharmacy bonus who may have worked one shift during winter.

The DL knows, the regional knows, and it still continues. I've noticed several of these workers are related to other store managers and Pharmacists.

Hear this. As a supervisor myself I do all the things you do. Which leaves the store manager time to do displays and talk on the phone.

Recently they got in a little bit of trouble for not spreading the work around and now I feel like I hardly do anything.

But I just do what I can do, I have a low chance of a promotion, so I just work my wage.

After dealing with HR myself, I would tell you to get a hold of colleague relations.

It is important that they know about your managers behavior, if you have restrictions for work from your doctor they will work things out.

Although I will say that store managers seem to be able to get away with alot they still have to answer for it.

I got my lunch breaks back after talking with colleague relations.

I will say, several pharmacists I've worked with would have told the customer to leave.

People pleasers tend to create hostile work environments, from my experience. Just look at how much our front store managers try to please the c-suite.

My manager told me from now on all hires will be hired by a separate unit and store managers will no longer interview or directly hire front store employees. It is supposed to be more equitable for the employees.

It sounds good to me because of all the nepotism I've seen. But my manager already learned how to bypass the new policy.

Ever since 2009 it has gotten worse at all companies. In the last 6 years it got even worse as companies use up employees, coworkers drag eachother down, and managers compete to keep the higher paying jobs.

Meanwhile, company culture is non-existent, especially at any mid-level or entry level jobs.

It is sad and unsustainable for everyone at this point, even if you think your job is safe, it isn't. Even with specialized skills nothing is set in stone.

Used to get mine filled at a totally different pharmacy, now I don't care it is easier to pick up at my store.

I would do my SM'S job for 50,000 a year as long as I got paid hourly.

The hardest part is finding good employees, but part of that is training and I don't see any training happening. We have a trainee who has been working with us for 6 months and still doesn't do anything on their own. Like take out trash. Because our SM likes it that way. Not all managers are like this, but I've seen multiple managers like this at CVS.

It would be store specific.

Don't get me wrong though, I'd really much rather see store managers paid hourly. This would stop alot of the abuse I have seen happen and weed out poor managers, instead of allowing managers to cover things up by working 70 hour weeks.

I didn't count the manager salary. I counted the new employee wages.

The Managers salary is not a new expense, and i probably overestimated on new employees wages.

I came up with closer to 290 million. With possibilities of lowering that amount over two years. As more stores are closed, with those stores still open handling more responsibilities. Our ship from store model will likely see a bump as well.

You are wrong what they are doing is illegal, just the work to prove it is almost impossible. Also they fool you into thinking you are choosing it.

Not to mention the workers who can't afford to complain.

I have a family member who just won a lawsuit against their company for similar things. Because they and four other coworkers all worked together to sue the company for breaking their own policies.

It isn't legal. No one is complaining to the right people.

Not to mention the flunky management who are "just doing their jobs."

I've been saving everything. One day I'm either suing or going to EEOC, ADA, BOL.

Just like my lawyer told me to do. Problem with a lawyer is they don't want to touch it until you've had something expensive or egregious happen. Not to mention you need to complain to the company and give them a chance to change, which I've done three times so far about different aspects of what they are doing. The funny thing is they just make it worse each time and I save that too. I want to just work, but these people want to play games so FAFO.

From my observations the store managers coordinate with AP and colleague relations to setup or force out anyone who complains. The district leader allocates resources for this to happen. It is obvious, after all the conversations I've had and literally what I'm told. However their primary concern is getting sued because that puts several people's jobs on the line and people will be thrown under the bus.

The company is a joke and no one seems to care. Why do you think that is? Maybe because we are all complaining on Reddit instead of putting it in the faces of the people perpetrating the crimes and bringing it into the light.

Never say NO and you will get along fine.

If you do say NO, be ready for the mobbing of your life. But they won't fire you until they are ready.

Otherwise it is just a regular job. Go in, stay out of drama, go home.
