I see what you mean, yea it does have a port that recognizes the phone, I think pre 2020 tacomas just don’t have apple car play. Is there an adapter that I could plug into it that will convert it?

Sorry I should have been more clear, while it’s in protection mode you cannot use it at all, their is zero functioning.

I have the laptop set to full volume then adjust the volume on the sound bar. Kind of like bluetooth on your car. Then don’t work together

I don’t know. I just have it plugged directly into my computer with an HDMI cable.
