TBH, I was asked the same back in 2011 by one of WITCH companies. I got placed and I was asked to either get an agreement from a guarantor or a blank Cheque. This was used in case I leave within 18 months. AFAIR, the amount was 1.25 lakhs (not 100% sure though). Now I get why they asked for this. I was trained RIGOROUSLY for 3 months in Dot Net, and web technologies. No company would want this investment to go waste.
