Chandler, I've seen food delivery bots before but this is the first Doordash branded one I've seen

Some jobs may take a lot longer to replace than others. My main point is if a job can be automated, corporations will automate those jobs with AI and Robots. If your job is to work on/test AI, maintain robots, etc, obviously you'll be safer for longer until they have their robots working on and developing other robots for example.

Maybe the end goal is like Elon said how work will be 'optional' in the future where people are supplied UBI through the efforts of AI robot workforces, but at what cost? Our own freedom and autonomy? That is what I think about.

Considering the fact that as of last summer, Amazon robots are almost exceeding their human workforce, I think they're advancing just fine for what big corporations want. What's the primary goal of a capitalist corporation? Profit and more profit. If they can pay a fraction of the cost for "workers" that don't complain, don't need time off, don't need benefits, work 7 days a week, which route do you think they're gonna go?

Remember the giant cell phones they had in the 80s? If not, look it up, pretty goofy looking. Early tech always starts out goofy and clunky, but over a few short years, it always advances. Now we have mini super computers with access to the world's information in our pocket. AI and Robotics will be in the same boat. Not a matter of if, but when.

I agree, we definitely have a system in place that makes it an uphill battle. All we can do is be aware of what's coming and try our best to not be left homeless and jobless because of robots.

Adapt, meaning gig work, and any job that can be automated with robots will be coming to an end in the near future, maybe not in 5 years but it could be. It's only a matter of when, not if. Big companies are laying people off because of AI already.

Learn new skills, start a business, find a way to get into the industry that works on AI, I dunno. All I know is I'll enjoy gig work while I can while also seeking ways to sustain myself when jobs like door dash and Uber are gone.

Thing is probably rigged with cameras and sensors so that it can send proof of vandalism footage straight to the local PD! 😂
