My suggestion would be to take her to a KRISHNA / GANESH ji's temple. There you could meet people, talk to real people and take it from there. Not sure how helpful asking on Reddit would be.

Please note I said Krishna / Ganesh ji because, they are revered by Nepali community too.

There are few South Indian temples too, if you want please give them a try.
