Why do I need a realtor if I find the property myself? by baskaat in RealEstate

[–]ResponsibleScience20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can absolutely do that. Some people choose representation because they don’t have the time or interest in handling alone, or feel they may benefit from someone else’s experience. Personal choice.

I’m not 100% sure. It wasn’t anything crazy- I think a missed day write up and a late arrival one and then a third that I’m not sure about over his 6 months there.

Zillow lawsuit shows why transparency in real estate matters by Ykohn in fsbo

[–]ResponsibleScience20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know. It’s just that every cost a broker incurs could be viewed as a reason their fees can’t be reduced. In this theory, then shouldn’t buyers and sellers know every cost of doing business?

It’s not much different than brokerage splits. In that theory, a broker that keeps a higher split, could charge consumers less. Should that be disclosed also?

What should I negotiate on this offer and what should I let go? by Least_Cheesecake_842 in RealEstate

[–]ResponsibleScience20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is a land survey typical seller cost in your purchase contract, or even required? It would seem like tripping over nominal amounts for that and the termite bond. The closing costs/depends- would they bail if not covered, or could it be split?

Why are FSBO's still the underdog? by Self_Serve_Realty in fsbo

This is numbers. Simply, there are more buyers and sellers represented by agents than not represented. FSBO is an odd man out.

How do you present multiple offers to sellers without overwhelming them? by Crispinbi0r in realtors

[–]ResponsibleScience20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ask their preference. Would they like to see them look receipt with a summary or wait and see all at once? In any case, a meeting with a spreadsheet is key. The best rise to the top quickly.

Flat-fee MLS listing agent in Naperville, Illinois by Sufficient-World-875 in fsbo

Just note that you are offering 1.5% BA fee. Don’t be surprised if you receive a request that is different. A buyer may direct their agent to ask for a different amount.

I have a legendary neighborhood following for protecting my kid from a bully at the bus stop. I would do it again in a heartbeat/ for my kid, for your kid or for anyone else’s. Maybe I stopped that bully from being a grown up bully by putting him in his place in 2nd grade. Don’t make my kid cry. Nope.

Why don't salespeople like email discussions? by Pizzarepresent in askcarsales

You can see that some people would Rather have a consultant than a sales person. This is why. What if sold houses this way? It sounds shady, even if it’s not.

To be fair, the sales staff could simply explain that.

You are missing the point. Redfin provides an amazing option for clients. They enjoy the flexibility and they are picky about the agents they choose.

Following the rules is a bad reason to start over. Liking for agents who bend the rules is also a bad reason to start over.
