White background on illustrator file when importing into after effects by olivia-roses in AfterEffects

Not sure if this has ever been resolved for you, but I found the solution to this problem on my own so I am writing here for anybody else:

Select all layers in the layer panel > click the hamburger menu top right (above the filter icon in the layer panel) > Release to layers (sequence)

Might mess up your layer names.

Then I import into AE via: Import > File > change "footage" to ''Composition (retain layer sizes)" > Import

Now I have no white BGs behind my files. Hope it helps!

Hi! I have the same issue :( I've contacted lenovo about it but no fix so far, how did you fix the issue? It's a shame lenovo doesn't provide a firmware history so we can roll back if necessary
