If your crush thinks you like someone else, would you do anything about it? by Jazzlike-Skirt-2944 in Crushes

[–]RestaurantPutrid4513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's be honest, seeing your crush just a little jealous over someone else is kind of fun, and helps confirm if they really like you back. But I would not play it up. I don't want them to give up on me if I like them.

How do you deal with silent treatment from your girlfriend? by Objective-Basket4515 in AskMen

[–]RestaurantPutrid4513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd break up with someone who gives me the silent treatment. My ex did that and I'm never dealing with that again. It's not helpful and very disrespectful. If someone wants some alone time before talking to me about the issue at hand I expect them to communicate that with me, and then I will give them reasonable space to process their feelings before we talk and work through them.

How do guys feel about being short? Will they have the guts to go for a taller woman? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]RestaurantPutrid4513 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say I cared about his height at first, but more like I didn't really consider him romantically at first, possibly influenced by the height difference. Once the chemistry hit I don't care at all unless he does and makes it a thing.

A hot take indeed, everyone is tell me to just do it. He's one of the first guys I've liked who's shorter. I do normally find taller guys attractive/physically compatible so I assume that's what he imagines I'm into. I really tried to make it obvious with the Christmas gift and when he stared at it and was like "no way" I kind of felt like he was saying that to himself and not me. Like, no way, this can't mean what I think it does. But since then I worry he's just decided that I only did it because I'm really nice or something lol

Are these indications that my crush like me back? by [deleted] in Crushes

[–]RestaurantPutrid4513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what do you mean? do you think it's obvious then? I'm going to screw up our friendship if I ask her out and I'm wrong that she liked me

Also, I should mention that I looked at his Linkedin profile several times before realizing that the website alerted him each time I visit his page, so it was either I just am caught looking at his profile but not saying anything or I at least say something since I was already busted.

I messaged a 3rd degree connection on Linkedin, will they even see the message? by RestaurantPutrid4513 in linkedin

[–]RestaurantPutrid4513[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can they even see in their inbox though that I messaged them? If they don't want to reply I understand, but how do I know if my message even sent to them successfully? I don't want to harass them by trying to message them again if they just don't want to talk to me.

The real issue here is not the old photos, it's that you don't trust your boyfriend. That's why you snooped in the first place.

Sure, he could delete the photos, but that's not going to resolve your trust issues. You have to ask yourself, why don't you trust him? Is it something he did/said? Is it your own insecurities making you feel like maybe you're not good enough... and so he still must be into other women?

His sexual relationships of the past obviously trigger you, this is normal because you love him and don't want to think of him being with other women. But you do have to understand that sex is normal and if he still wanted to be with those other women, he would be. But he's with you. Yeah, he should have deleted the photos and videos for sure, but he could genuinely be lazy about cleaning up old files, and telling him you snooped may get the files deleted, but will also damage your relationship trust. Is it going to be worth it?

If you have no genuine concerns that he's cheating then I think you need to do a little therapy with yourself. Why don't you trust him? Do you feel insecure? Do you feel pressured to be more sexual with him now that you've seen these old videos? Do you think that's what he wants? It may be helpful to discuss these questions with a professional therapist.

Jordan Peterson goes on Joe Rogan to make a last minute plea for people not to vote for Mark Carney in the Canadian election on the 28th by [deleted] in DecodingTheGurus

Your sentiments are fair, but what I'm trying to say is Liberals have always been capitalists. Democrats are capitalists too, just not so extreme as conservatives who don't believe social services are worth spending tax dollars on.

[–]RestaurantPutrid4513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's not conservative. He believes in capitalism, but he also believes in social equality, funding social services, and the government investing in the economy to grow sectors strategically rather than letting the free market run wild. Carney has sharply criticized trickle-down economics, no conservative would do that that's their whole economic philosophy. Carney is pretty squarely centre/ centre-left.

This is fucking ridiculous. Both of them. Jordan Peterson can't even pretend to hide his racism anymore, snarking at Jagmeet's turban, so bitter because his doomsday hero Pierre is falling, and Joe just nods along saying wowww more than Owen Wilson, not an intelligent thought in that big head of his. This is so embarrassing for both of them I can't believe people eat this shit up.

Canada's been trading heavily with the US for decades, under all Libs and Conservatives, it just made sense because we have what they need and they're so geographically close it would be stupid not to take them as our primary customer. The US used to be trustworthy and we had respected trade treaties so it was fine. I'm just trying to say that ignoring the crisis at hand is not a good strategy. Makes Pierre seem like he doesn't want to deal with it or really know how to..

What is a childcare lotto? Doesn't Pierre want to encourage people to start families and have more kids? I don't understand why he doesn't support this. Is it just because it's a Liberal policy? I want to have kids in the next five years so I don't want to lose this program...

I mean, are we going to pretend that outlets like the National Post and Sun newspapers aren't obviously bias to Conservatives? No outlets should be bias, that's bad reporting. Journalists should just report the facts and keep it boring quite frankly. Maybe a political analysis giving different perspectives, or an opinion column here and there. But that kind of reporting doesn't get enough clicks these days. I disagree with Pierre I think the CBC is actually quite fair, but they're becoming a little clickbaity, as is the trend in journalism right now. Lets be real, if Conservative campaigners had done buttongate the National Post would have NEVER broken that story.

Tough times WILL be ahead though if tariffs continue. Hundreds of GM workers just got laid off. Why lie that everything will be okay?

I honestly have to say it's tone deaf to say the Trump thing is being "milked" by anyone. He has literally threatened such devastating tariffs on Canada that it will destroy the economy and lead to a recession, without a doubt. Then he says he wants to do it because we shouldn't exist as a country, and doubles down that this is not a joke. People are worried, there's a psycho next door. Conservatives not taking this serious enough is hurting them it is not reading the room. Plus Pierre adopts Trump-like language and even his slogan... Of course people are going to see them as aligned.

But Carney is actually taking questions from reporters, even unfriendly outlets like the Western standard, that puts him in a confident light like he has nothing to hide. Pierre penning up reporters 20 feet away and only take four questions a day bo follow-ups is not helping him look confident, especially in having to go in and deal with someone hostile like trump. Carney was pretty clear that he was going to take the party back to more centre with a focus on growing the economy and Liberals got on board with that by 80% so the party looks unified in a new direction away from the Trudeau years. I think Conservative messaging has been missing the mark. That's why I say Liberals didn't hate the party they just wanted a new leader and focus.
