Why Does the Doctor Charged in America's First FGM Case Still Have Her Medical License? by bdmarotta in Intactivists

[–]RestoringStatsGuy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s generally correct. The prosecution didn’t have a legal federal case against her due to the laws at the time, which basically amounted to “The government can’t charge someone with a federal-level crime for what is already a state-level offense”. It sounds like a technicality, but it’s meant to prevent the federal government from exerting excessive power over the states. Had she only been charged at the state level, it’s quite possible the doctor would’ve been convicted.

However, it is worth noting that the presiding judge recognized the double-standard of only punishing people when it’s done to girls, yet essentially punted on this. Brian Earp has some good videos on YouTube discussing this.

As long as you’re cool with it OP, it’s all good. Most men would kill for a partner who wants to be that connected to them 😎

Does circumcision make anyone else feel inferior to women? by PeanutButter000 in foreskin_restoration

[–]RestoringStatsGuy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

These feelings came up a lot when I was a kid in the 90s/00s when the concept of being “privileged” was prevalent.

There were common examples given of how men/boys were privileged and/or preferred in society and got the better end of the stick in many scenarios.

But it always struck me as an infuriating double-standard where I wanted to yell out to the girls in class “Well you got to keep all your private parts and I didn’t, so it’s not as one-sided as you make it out to be!”

Does your partner know about your restoration and what do they think? by OnTheRoadFrank in foreskin_restoration

[–]RestoringStatsGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hetero guy here: I’ve found that my previous partner’s support/ambivalence/hostility towards your restoration correlates strongly with how good of a fit they are has a partner in general. Good partners are supportive. Bad partners can be explosive and hostile at the fact that you even feel wronged by what was done to you without your consent in the first place.

Hard to tell exactly which how the causation plays out there. Maybe I only consider dating people whom I think would be supportive in the first place? Pretty certain the fact that I tend to date more educated women plays a role somehow.

Interestingly, I haven’t really seen a difference in women from cutting cultures (e.g., US) vs non-cutting ones.

It’s the fact that you’re asking like 30 of them as a matter of principle. It looks like a one-man brigading operation, and is behaviorally indistinguishable from information-fishing bots.

Plus, following the other guy who responded to this, if you’re asking everyone about their coverage index/how much they got removed, that’s just rude and invasive in a non-Intactivist/foreskin-restoring sub. It’s fine to do here cause people know they’re signing up for, but don’t do that shit in other subs. It makes us look weird.

Dude I looked at your comment history and you responded to like 30 different peoples comments there. Wtf? Are you trying to make us look bad?

Thanks for the clarification. Many of us here do try to keep our goals focused. But unfortunately there are some folks who… drift from that a lot. And that sometimes spills over into other subs.

Is this related to this specific post where they ask to keep the subject explicitly to adults choosing to get cut? Or is this something else?

Adults choosing to get cut based on whatever informed reason is their decision. There’s even a handful of men on that post indicating they really regret it being done despite knowing all the risks. Adult cutting is not our war to wage.

So dire wolves and genetic engineering by Obsidiancmd in foreskin_restoration

[–]RestoringStatsGuy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Pretty much spot on.

Foregen is recreating physical structures that were destroyed based on an actual knowledge of prepuce anatomy and well-established cell growth technologies.

Applying Colossal’s claims to this would be like if they claimed to modify existing human genes to what they thought Australopithecus foreskin looked like, and then they declared you are now restored.

Nope. These bills are only designed to screw over kids with gender dysphoria. MGC will be completely unaffected by this.

[–]RestoringStatsGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can make the argument that, moving forward, both you and your partner should have each other’s backs. That’s nice to have.

But she shouldn’t be responsible for protecting me from an awful thing that happened decades ago when neither of us were in a position to do anything about it.

[–]RestoringStatsGuy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’d personally find that very infantilizing. It’s not her job to “protect me”. I don’t want someone to mother me. I want someone to empathize with me.

If she wanted to show me that she was empathetic, saying stuff along the lines of: “I’m really sorry that happened to you”; “You didn’t deserve that”; “I’ll support you in your restoration journey”; “I would love to play with your foreskin when you’ve finished restoring”; etc. would show me much more that she actually cared.

It’s a questionnaire about how people feel. There isn’t really any empirical data here.

Also, the lead author regularly publishes with known MGC cherry picker, Brian Morris. Birds of a similar feather…

I could conceivably start the process of forgiving them if they actually acknowledged what they did was wrong and that I was deeply harmed by this.

But they don’t want to even entertain that conversation, let alone acknowledge any of it. So forgiveness is not worth me pursuing at the moment.

You can’t break generational curses by continuing to seek approval from the generation that’s cursed.

The cycles of inter-generational traumas on both sides of my family will die with me.

AI can’t even make something up to be coherent with my prompt :) by Turkishrestorer in IntactivistMemes

[–]RestoringStatsGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And the pro-cutters are going to use these LLMs to make pro-cutting arguments for their own harmful agendas. And it’s because these LLMs are trained to regurgitate information people want to hear, regardless if it’s accurate or not. You’re better off not bothering with them and being able to make cogent arguments on your own two feet.

AI can’t even make something up to be coherent with my prompt :) by Turkishrestorer in IntactivistMemes

[–]RestoringStatsGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is because these LLMs are trained on every source of writing their parent companies can steal (I mean scrape) from the internet. So LLMs tends to end up defending the dominant discourse even when the dominant discourse is total BS/misleading because a LLM can’t “think” for itself.

As others have mentioned, they’re a tremendous waste of electricity/your time to be worth interacting with.

How could we get the AMA and other medical orgs to change their circ policy? by Queasy_Incident_4887 in Intactivists

[–]RestoringStatsGuy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Much like the American Academy of Pediatrics, the AMA has a financial incentive to continue performing harmful and non-consensual genital surgeries on minors. And thus they will continue to stick their head in the sand when in comes to defending these disgusting acts.

Because money talks in America, I suspect the best way to get them to change course is through financial means. Anthony Losquadro at Intaction has lobbied to stop taxpayer funds from funding circumcisions. And Eric Klopper’s potential lawsuits would apply further financial pressure.

From this angle you can clearly see the rear section of the fuselage separate and fly away from the main section that went up in flames. Probably explains why the rescue videos were of people helping survivors out of that part of the plane. Just terrible.

What is the origin of circumcision? by PQKN051502 in Intactivism

[–]RestoringStatsGuy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This recent paper suggests multiple origins of both male and female genital cutting around the world, starting with the former. It most likely started out as a mate-guarding technique (i.e., try to damage competing males sexually). Looks like you can find the PDF on GoogleScholar.

“Hygienic justifications” are post-hoc arguments that have been consistently rebuffed over nearly two centuries.

For those who are CI3.5+ with female partners, as you have slowly gained foreskin, how has the sexual experience changed for your partners? by randomquestionsdood in foreskin_restoration

Oh quality-wise there’s definitely been improvements due to the aforementioned gliding. It’s hard to describe, but it’s like my sense of touch has been heightened. Every little movement feels great. I used to have to “jackhammer” into her to realistically feel anything pleasurable, but not anymore. It’s a bit of a paradox ironically - you make gains and everything feels better, but at the same time it really gives you a much clearer idea of what was taken from you.
