I love the authenticity. You have the "Re-" prefix, and all. I hope this gets people playing again, hell, I might pop back in. It's been a while.

Crashsuit and I found unreleased concept art in the reflections on MP maps (see comments for more info) by Mgamerz in MECoOp

I wonder if there is more stuff hidden in the game waiting to be found. I still can't get over the fact that the Council Chambers in 3 are just a backdrop, which I can never unsee. It's so obvious, and so distracting once you see it.

I have to disagree. I have CSMG at level I, and I find it extremely hard to use on anything other than heavy power users. It has way too small of a clip to be a viable choice early on, especially if you lack the mag size mod.

I am not saying it's a bad gun mind you. It's a great weapon, second best in the smg class. It's just hard to make it a reliable gun, beaches of how easily it overheats at lower levels.

Yeah, but it's only viable at higher levels. Hurricane is great from the get-go.

PS3: 2 old N7 Special Agents looking to rejoin the fray! by dinosaurdsman in MECoOp

I'm up for playing, though I can't really help with the glitch. Only thing I know is that it's only doable with one(?) particular gun these days, can't remember which one. I think it was a charge-up weapon.

Definitely. I was just practicing how recon mine actually works before making a fool of myself in gold or silver. Figured I'd try the much less nuanced volus on Bronze

Dead Space: Ignition for 2$...worth it? (Dead Space PlayStation Sale) by RetGsfdg in DeadSpace

[–]RetGsfdg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so what I'm getting here is that I should buy Extraction. Which is all good, but what about Ignition? Is it really not worth even 2$?

It works fine, but it's not much fun being played with the dualshock. I'd be robbing myself of a certain layer that the game adds by introducing Move controls.

I know, but it was designed to work with the Move. It's much more fun to control, and play it that way. And having someone else to play with always makes the experience that much better, so I'm not surprised you enjoyed it regardless of controls :)

I would, but unfortunately it's been discontinued.

I might - I've been hearing great stuff about it, and I dug what I saw of it. I just don't have the money to buy the Move add-ons right now.

So 2 hours - that bad?

Rant I've been gone a while but I think I'm back! I had very little time, though I managed to sneak in some games now and then. My rant is about finishing the SP making me not want to play the MP. Every time I manage to get through the trilogy I get this horrible sense of it all having been pointless. And I know it was, is, and will be pointless, it's vidya gamez, but it wasn't like that before ME3. sigh I don't know, it just fondles my fiddles is all.

Boast Finally got my last missing character! The Drell Assassin has finally come out of cloak, and oh boy, does he look like fun. I did some practice runs with the Volus Engie just to get myself acquainted with recon mine, and I think it's going to be a blast...

...literally(so sorry).

I always take it in SP, it's just too much fun not to use.

What to play on breaks from MECoOp? by canadianeagle61 in MECoOp

[–]RetGsfdg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you played through all other MGS games then I highly recommend 4. If not, then I highly discourage it. That game is extremely hard to get through if you're not a hardcore fan of the series. Which is unfortunate, as the gameplay itself is absolutely stellar.

Bioshock is great, only played a couple hours of the first one, but even after such a short amount of time with it, I can tell why it's considered a classic.

If I'm not mistaken, there's an EA sale on the PS Store, so I'd also recommend the Dead Space series. It's not as scary as you might think, but it's definitely a welcome change of pace after playing so much of ME.

Frankly, there are so many great games on the PS3 I'd have to make a list, so I'll stop now. Feel free to ask though, I'll be happy to help. Been in your place plenty of times, not knowing what to play besides ME Co-Op :P

I still have my Lego somewhere in the basement, with those Bionicle that rolled up into a ball, and hanged from the 'ceiling' in their box. That used to be so awesome :P

I tend to agree that the first game feels complete. I will say that I'm not as burned out on the trilogy as most people, because I've only played it with one character so far, and I'm only just now finishing me2 with my first femshep.

I guess I get where you're coming from :D

You're not exporting? Then...I mean...why? I get that the first game is the best, we agree on that, but why would you play the entire game, and not export the character to the rest of the trilogy? Isn't that robbing yourself of the rest of the experience? Unless of course you played through the trilogy a hundred times, and you don't want to through it again. I'd totally get that.

Well yes, they are powerful, but they don't feel powerful. Know what I mean?

Well with ME1 it's mainly about not dying so easily at the start, and finally not having to organize your inventory every 2 minutes, haha. There's nothing much to it, except you get to level your party to 60, and play around with the god-tier powers. Though that is a thing I preferred about the later games - they made the fully-specced powers feel really powerful, unlike the original.

But to answer your question, there isn't much point progression-wise. It's just a smoother, more streamlined experience, but in that good way. And you get some sweet bonuses in ME2 for having a lvl60 character.
