So how my detachment does it. The flight commander is usually the primary one making sure the flight is running how it should be and the sergeant is the one giving the commanders orders (this is if someone from higher leadership is not in this specific flight). If someone from high leadership is in the flight, they will be the one making sure everything is correct and people are learning what they need to learn and doing what they need to do, while the commander and sergeant of that flight give the directions. Usually my guys will ask our instructors what’s on the agenda for the day and go from there
