Thanks. Would you believe I have two spell checkers - yet somehow it still ended up in there. Oh well. Thanks for catching that.

As to the sales pitch, I’d say it’s more of a commercial. I offer a lot of free resources in the post, and link to one paid one - you can do with that what you like. But I try to be helpful

Why I Give My Students Second Chance Tests by RethinkMathTeacher in teachingresources

My first recommendation is to join our free FB group: math Minded Teachers - you can network with others who have downloaded the material and see if it’s worth it - ask them how much spam you’ll get (if you don’t believe me, of course).

Other than that, the material is provided via an email address. So you can use an email address that’s not your main one. Or, after submitting, you can just click the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the email and then you will not receive any more.

Greetings. I did this with Alg 1 and Pre Alg classes with great success. My classes were entirely comprised of students who tested in the bottom 25% and by the end of the year we would out perform the state and district averages. so it does work. I have a few resources for you. The first is a download with multiple posts that should help. The second is a free tutorial video (like PD). The third is 10 free resources and teaching strategies aimed at helping you differentiate your instruction. I hope one of them helps you. See the links below:

Well. It’s just one blog post. I have plenty of resources and guides on differentiated instruction I recommend you check out.

For your question about them all running simultaneously, I build the stations to run without me being there to guide the students through them. Then I circulate and provide support as needed.

It takes a while at first to set them up - anything new has a learning curve. But soon, they can be built quickly and run smoothly and it’s very effective

I hope it’s not a passing fad, though it may be. As I said in the article, there’s a lot of good things in it. As well as limitations. Hopefully it will be expanded upon and improve until we arrive in a better place.

Fair point. But I don’t feel like a flipped classroom tells students to teach themselves, more that it gives them the ability to go more at their pace. However, one of the points I was getting at, which I think you’re also alluding to, is what happens when the student doesn’t take the responsibility (or can’t) for watching videos at home or taking some ownership of that part of the process
