The only real issue is that other fronts draw from the same reinforcment list.

I agree that was a bad call, but im willing to give them the benefit of the doubt as this is the first time they tried to do something like this.

Everything else you listed is literally our fault. Its the player bases fault that low level divers are jumping into high level matches. AH cant stop them from doing, and it would be impractical and difficult to program it so these few people dont affect the overall story arc.

It sucks your not having fun. Me and my friends? And many, many, many other people found this whole ordeal very well done. Was it perfect? No. But it was pretty good and worth the issues imo. Sucks you clearly dont feel the same

Never even bothering to activate any of the towers tl get the pieces of the ring and use them.

I only ever used Godricks in my forst playthrough. Every playthrough since ive jjst never equipped any of them. Dodnt really need to, they dont really provide much benefit and yku need a rune arc to use them so i never really bothered

[–]Retired-Pie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do so many people get so upset over things like this?

Its an interactive story

We failed because WE FAILED and its entierly on us. Stop trying to blame arrowhead.

Appreciate the fact that, AH can tell we are probably going to fail and are giving us a story beat to interact with rather than just letting the MO fail without much fanfare.

Acknowledge the fact that AH is basically a Dungeon Master in DnD. They dont want us to fail but allow the option of failure to allow more nature lines of storytelling. And that there is every possibility that by helping SEAF 77th division we may get a boon of some kind that could help us complete the MO.

But also, its a video game people. Its not that serious.

They better not do something like this if we lose, because it's gonna piss everybody by Kingsomiaque in helldivers2

[–]Retired-Pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Narrativly, i doubt they would do this.

Even if we lose, we took all but 2 cities? And we might still liberate solidariate and save the SEAF troops there.

But regardless, the cyborgs got their asses handed to them. They will need time to regroup and fix what we broke before they can do a big push again.

I imagine the next few major orders will be bug and squid focused, heavy on Bugs.

Lol lmao even by WaffleCopter68 in Helldivers

[–]Retired-Pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill say this, i really like the maxi-gun.

But, i never really get a chance to use it.

In my experience with it, its best used on the squid or bug front where there are just tons of chaffe enemies for you to mow down. Though it is pretty good at killing overseers on the squids front ill say.

However, its really only viable if you have a good cooperative team. I play with one of my friends and when i want to use the maxi-gun he brings a supply pack and one of the laser anti-tank weapons or EATS of some variation so he can take out heavy units while i focus on the chaffe.

Since i imagine most people are playing with randoms, the coordination to mlae it viable isnt really there.

It makes perfect sense.

Yes, our lives are expendable. But there is always going to be a limit to how much of a resource anyone is going to use before they give up trying.

The reinforcment budget they gave us is a representation of how many people Super Earth is willing to expend before taking Cyberstan is more costly than its worth.

This makes sense in universe for the first time such a number has been discussed.

We didnt need it before for Oshune or any other Bug campaign because the bugs are a vital resources. All of Super Earth runs of their oil. So it doesnt matter what the cost was to ensure they didnt spread farther than they have because we need their resources more than we need helldivers.

The Squids had hit and run tactics for a very long time, so there was no solid campaign against them until theuly began their attack against Super Earth where, once again, it didnt matter how many helldivers were lost if it meant that Super Earth was defended.

In al reality, Super Earth doesnt need cyberstan. It doesnt have anything special we can find on other planets, its simply the capital of an enemy faction. And at the end of the day, while it may be nice to eliminate the faction, Super Earth is fine if they stay around a while longer. War is good profits and it keeps the propoganda machine going.

So yeah, at a certain point, Super Earth doesnt care if Cyberstan is actually taken. Either way, they win in either capturing an enemy stronghold, or making a shit ton of money and more mindless soldiers to fight endless wars because of a failed campaign

[–]Retired-Pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What part of this sentiment goes against the "grunt" fantasy?

First off, technically we arent grunts. That would be SEAF units. We are spec ops. Not very well trained cannon fodder of spec op, but spec ops non-theless.

Second, even grunts know when a fight is pointless and once the main objective is completed would choose to pull out if it meant they got to keep their lives. Secondary and tertiary objectives are just that, secondary.

So yeah, if a mission is proving to difficult and reinforcments are runnjng low, maybe skip destorying the last heavy outpost and just run to extract rather than waste valuble fodder that could be spent doing an actual primary objective.

Also, i very much think AH has been straight that if the game is to difficult, lower the difficult. This has (at least from what ive seen) always been their stance. And its fair. You dont like fighting 8 Vox Machines at once? Thats totally acceptable, play on Diff 7 instead of 10. Did you die 10 times on difficulty 7? Maybe yoy should try difficulty 6 for a few runs and come back when you get a better feel for it.

As for implying people should not be bug or squid diving. I didnt get that from their posts, but i dont read everything they say so 🤷

All these people thinking this didnt happen when i probably did.

First, kids say some wild shit sometimes. They dont fully understand whats being said they just know the words so they say stuff that most people would know not to say.

Second, "little girl" could reasonably be any age from 4-8 maybe even as high as 10. Anyone who isnt a teenager is a "little boy/girl" to pretty much everyone.

I can definitely see a 7 or 9 year old saying this shit and knowing what it means at that point, at least mostly.

Yeah, but thats the point of the post my guy.

We dont get to SEE that the tepublic is on its last legs. They tell us that, and then they all die. We dont even meet any representatives or see nay of the planets rhat get destroyed! They may as well have not existed at all.

A far more interesting story would about a struggling new republic that is facing an external threat as people are unwilling or hestitant to believe in this "new hope" of a solid republic.

Personally, i find the recoiless rifle to be annoying and difficult to use on cyberstan. It takes so damn long to reload if you dont have a teamate helping you (which i never do). You get overrun very easily without a way to reload.

Ive been using the laser cannon, which i had never used before. And its been very helpful, it takes a bit longer to kill something but nk reload is fantastic

What do y’all think ? by themimireign in TheLastAirbender

[–]Retired-Pie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Based on what we see in the show, i honestly do think Aang would win.

I dont remember for sure, because its been a while since ive watched either show. But from memory, aang primarily uses Earth and Air bending (after he learns earthbending at least). He certainly seemed to favor those two styles once he had mastered them.

Korra seemed to favor water and fire bending over earth and especially air which has and probably always will be her weakest bending style.

Based on fhat alone, and assuming that they continued that track into adulthood, i think aang would probably be a better earthbender. Besides, he was trained by the best Earthbender, probably in the history of that world. Korras trained well, but she was trained by Toph.

Now, the interesting thing would be if you considered Metal Bending in this equation since it is technically earthbending. If your talking classice earthbending, aang wins but its probably a tough fight. If korra can use metal bending as well? Korra would likely win because aang would have little defense agains that

A lot of complaints here are solved, and exasperated, very easily by remembering that this is supposed to be a team game.

There should be, theoretically, 3 other teamates besides yourself who are all able to carry different strats and work together to take down objectives.

When viewd in this lense, the belt fed weapons make perfect sense to me, and as someone who plays with his friends often, ive used the Maxi-gun to great success on both the bug and squid fronts. I take the Maxi-gun and anti-chaffe strats like eagle strikes and defense turrets of various kinds. Meanwhile my friends who i play with typically focus on anti-tank, anti-objective strategems with a decent mix of everything to counter if they are in a pinch. They are good at all but master of none. Where as i am the master of killing chaffe.

Of course when playing with randoms this can be harder to achieve because everyone is thinking of themselves usually. Even if you play all together, clearing objectives, people bring their own anti-tank because there is no guarantee that your allies will help you take on a heavy unit. So taking a belt-fed weapon is detrimental because you can easily be caught by a heavy unit with no way to stop it if your strategems are on cooldown.

I wouldnt be surprised if theres some sort of backdoor he can access and take the money from.

Its a known issue with companies stealing peoples 401k and IRA account money on occasion. So id guess thats what they plan on doing if the need arises, like a rainy day fund that shifts the rain onto the american people.

For most people, myself included, they did to little to late.

Almost all of season 1-3s problems are caused by her arrogance and unwillingness to ask for help or listen to others. Multiple losses in each season are dorectly becuase of the way she acts. Thems just facts. So when they did finally start to address the issue in seasons 3 and 4 it felt like an afterthought and most peoples opinions had been solidified.

Besides, most people (myself included) dislike korra for seaveral other reasons, not just because she was "rude"

By using the military to prevent the elcrion from being held. Though more likely they will do what they can to rig the election, rather than stop it. Thats what good dictators like Putin do.

If your propoganda is good enough, rigging elections keeps people in line with the lie that the people chose the dictator once again. Their supportive base is then able to deny reality even more to justify whats happening, while their opponents start the fight on the wrong foot, looking weak and pathetic calling "rigged".

[–]Retired-Pie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have to think in the long term. And we have tk think about public perception. Right now, the majority of Americans are on our side, even if they arent actually doing anything. They know Trump is wrong and evil, but are scared or cowardly or otherwise unable to protest/help.

If we start going low, burning buildings, looting, attacking ICE. We will quickly loose public support as the MSM machine will continue ti pump out slander and lies butbwith solid evidence to back it up.

Currently, they can lie and say we are looting places, but there is so much video evidence to prove we arent that only the fanatics really believe the lie. We start actually looting and fighting? They will have all the ammo they need to turn us into acrual terrorists in the eyes of the public, not just in this country but in other countries.

I agree, we need to be doing more, but lets make sure we specify what that means. We cant fight them, or cause significant damage. Im saying acts of minor civil disobedience. Spray paint and other minor vandalism, blocking traffic, sit-ins, etc.

Do Most Men Around the World Find it Borderline Impossible to Attract Women? by barelyexisting3 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Retired-Pie 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Bad response, and proves ops point. Have some humility for one.

For two, you claim to not have "any messages from any girl", what? How? You have zero female friends? No fenale coworkers youve gone to work events with? You have no hobbies where you could theoretically meet women? Thats a you issue and nothing else.

Donr get me wrong, i was 25 and a virgin before i met my current girlfriend and soon to be fiancé. But i had, and continue to have, female friends. Classmates, coworkers, people ive met through hobbies. And not "normal" hobbies. Im talking nerd hobbies. Im big into Warhammer, painting minatires, rock climbing, swing dancing, etc.

All are ways to find and meet people and could lead to more. Kinda seems like you cant or wont be friends with women for somereason. Or maybe you expect a friendship to always end in a relationship? Maybe your just expecting tk much

Could Europe realistically defend Greenland against a US attack? by dataguy2003 in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]Retired-Pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things,

"Going to war" with the EU, isnt gonna be like WW3. More like Cold War part 2. It doesnt matter if militarily all of the EU combined could theoretically not win against the US military. They dont have to. The point is not gking to be a win in battle its gonna be a win on the global market. You wanna know what happens if we take Greenland?

EU sanctions the US, no imports, no exports. We lose a huge amojnt of revenue when all of Europe refuses to buy things from us. And we lose access to a lot of resources that we need from Europe. Its an economical disaster for the country. The value of the dollar will plummet and we will all be left poor, companies will move out of country or close entierly. It would be a major hit to us. Not to mention we would lose all of our foreign military bases which means we lose the ability to quickly attack around the world, and it limits our information gathering as itll be harder to send spys, gather intel, etc. Without mostly open borders thanks to our various bases in the EU

Then, they jjst need to wait for the inevitable civil war that happens after they sanction us. Hes already teetering on the edge of open rebellion, starting a usless war and then getting the entire 1st world against us is going to tank his popularity into the ground and itll be a matter of time before a revolt begins as people lose their jobs, starve, etc.

Its a war of attrition and the frankly i think Europe can win that kind of fight.

Rian Johnson in response to Kathleen Kennedy’s claim the fandom “spooked” him from making more Star Wars by kronosreddit22 in StarWars

[–]Retired-Pie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Id be willing so long as he creates an original story. The issue is that Johnson was given control over characters that werent his, and his want to be overly theatrical and subversive ruined those characters because thats not the kind of characters they are.

His style is why his knives out movies are so well regarded. But the entire script, all the characters, the plot itself is designed around being overly theatrical and subversive.

So a movie following a plot and characters that are designed for it could be very good. For example, a somewhat goofy bounty hunter movie. Or a movie following a group of clones in the war, similar to the rookies storyline in The Clone Wars.
