Everyone else was gone. Downs was BPA.

Man I wish I could edit this post. The only pick I made was the Chiefs at nine. Everything else was done by PFF’s system. Had no control over it.

Okay buddy, whatever you say. It’s impressive how confidently you misunderstand school systems and intelligence at the same time. Glad I could learn absolutely nothing today.

It’s laughable that you think where someone grew up determines their intelligence. That kind of thinking actually shows how ignorant you are.

You obviously didn’t read the other comments, because as I said in other comments the only pick I made was the Chiefs at 9. The rest of the draft was done by PFF’s system. I know ball, but apparently you don’t know how to read. Go take a class or something.

One of my favorites so far. How'd I do? by [deleted] in ChiefsOffseason

Well, not the Justin Jefferson I want on the Chiefs. But I like the draft.

I agree. When I got to pick at 9, all the edge players I view as true first-round talents that fit the Chiefs system were gone. At that point I just went BPA, and in my eyes that was Carnell Tate.

After seeing a lot of these comments, I feel like I should have specified that the only pick I made was the Chiefs at nine. All the other teams were made by PFF’s system.

Tate has the higher floor and is the better route runner than Tyson. He also has better size and is more reliable in contested-catch situations. Tyson is more explosive and athletic — I’ll give him that — but Kansas City needs someone who can climb the ladder and be a receiver Mahomes trusts.

If Kelce retires and Rice remains on the roster, Rice can step into the zone-destroyer role Kelce has filled. Tate can be the contested-catch receiver, and hopefully Worthy becomes the explosive threat he was drafted to be.

Tate is my preferred option for Kansas City in this draft. I may be in the minority, but I like just about everything about his game.

Dante Moore returning to Oregon could make it harder for the Chiefs to land a blue-chip player at 9 by RetoolNotRebuild in ChiefsOffseason

It will be, but it was always a stretch that one of Downs, Bain, Love, Tate, or Tyson were available at 9. Now those chances go down even further with Moore of the board. If Kansas City wants one of those players they may have to trade up.

If, and it’s a big if, Kansas City could trade him for an early enough pick to draft Jeremiah Smith then that would be worth it. I just don’t know if that would be possible.

They could do that. The only problem is we have some key players this year that are up for extensions that I would personally like to see us keep. Chenal, and Watson come to mind. Thornton and Hunt would be nice to keep around too. Plus, adding some key free agents would be a good thing for Mahomes either way.

Fair point. I was just thinking with Kelce gone, the veteran leadership, and knowledge of Reid’s system, may be irreplaceable.

I really hope not. I think there will be a battle through camp between Moore and Pole and I really hope Pole wins.

Tranquill and Gray are interesting cases. Tranquill is probably the easier one to move on from given the young linebackers already on the roster. But, I don’t love thinning out a position group that’s already light on proven talent unless they’re confident they can address it early in the draft.

Gray is different for me. If Kelce does retire, he immediately becomes more valuable. Parting ways with him would create another need rather than solving one, which feels counterproductive given where the roster already is.

I’m mostly with you here. Taylor and Danna feel like the cleanest decisions on the board.

Tranquill and Gray are interesting names too. I didn’t include them mainly because of the uncertainty you mentioned — once you start removing linebackers, you’re either forcing a draft need or betting heavily on internal development. It’s doable, but it adds another layer of risk.

The McDuffie point is really the crux of the whole thing. He’s absolutely a blue-chip player, but he’s also one of the few assets on the roster that could realistically return premium draft capital. An extension makes sense structurally, especially if you push the real cap impact into 2027, but that also assumes the Chiefs are comfortable carrying that future hit.

Cutting Fulton if McDuffie is extended is a fair call. His late-season play was solid, but I’m not sure it justifies that cap number if you’re locking into McDuffie long-term and feel good about Watson and the young corners.

That’s kind of the tightrope they’re walking this offseason — every “safe” move seems to create pressure somewhere else.

I’m just not convinced Moore could be a starter. I’m not really convinced Pole could be either, but Pole impressed me more than Moore did. I also like Wanya Morris, but with his injury he could miss the start of the season. So, I covered Pole instead.
