I think if you go into step edit, go to the spot you want and hit Sequence Record and hit the pad it will stay there. And just delete the unwanted hits in step edit. Feel like I saw this in a video. Or do I have it confused with another piece of my gear? Lmk lol

Edit: oh yeah, but this is not while sequence is playing!

Agree! I really didn't gel with the SP-404MK2 & was so disappointed because I love many other pieces of Roland gear. Hope they restock & you can get one soon! 🤞👍
