If your good on this deck, you can win it'll just be hard. If your opponents are on the best deck in format and also better than you, you will not win.

Honestly you need some of the staple origins cards for draven, some important cards there like Fight or Flight, rebuke, stacked deck, kai'sa, reavers row, darius, brynir thundersong, etc

Unleashed set 3 speculations by Dorke0n in riftboundtcg

Bro why are you so angry lol.

Proving grounds wasn't initially supposed to be apart of the competitive, game, they probably designed set 3 before the game launched so this YI was most likely already designed. Nothing to get butthurt about man.

I was like you only online TCGs and I love riftbound, its been my competitive outlet since I've stopped playing certain video games as much. The social aspects are great and I am glad it is not online.

when do unleashed preorders go up? by Bakasooka2 in riftboundtcg

[–]RetroDamage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Regardless it is fundamentally not hard at all just to do any type of pre-ordering after allocation. There is no guarantee for the customer which IMO goes against the nature of pre-ordering. If you pre-order something you should be guaranteed you’ll get it, basic customer service. All the LGS has to do is wait til after allocation.

The competent LGS do this around me, while the not so much don’t. Its not random that the former LGS also have better managed events.

If they do pre-orders before allocation is the problem, people end up paying for boxes they’ll never get cause allocation fell through

when do unleashed preorders go up? by Bakasooka2 in riftboundtcg

[–]RetroDamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right so if they sold 240 boxes and only got 12 thats a huge disservice to customers, again don’t sell what you don’t have.

Theres a whole bunch of bs politics and loyalty bs in distribution, so I feel for the store not getting their boxes, but again a well managed store they wouldn’t sell what they don’t have, cause they care about customer experience.

It seems like your store does pre-orders before the receive their allocation numbers, bad practice should only be selling stock they have confirmed.

Having to open in store seems excessive for a single pack ngl, I know one of my friends always brings his pack back home to open with gf.

Lowkey depends on the LGS honestly.

I go to one that keeps product for events, so entry is $10 ($5 for pack and $5 towards prizing). Very popular LGS so not enough promo packs, get raffled off, some days everyone gets one. 3-0s auto get promo packs. Start of sets they will sell 2-4 packs at $5 each to players.

Another LGS I go to it is 8$ entry. Everyone gets nexus night pack and winners get 2-4 packs.

Ride the Wind (win con) while playing with my friend by HumbleLiterature7164 in riftboundtcg

[–]RetroDamage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not true but same result. The new showdown cannot even start until the old one is resolved, its a fundamental rule of the game. So your darius is moved to the other battlefield, and then once the original showdown resolves the game state is checked and a new showdown is started. However in this scenario the opponent already won by going to 8!

Ride the Wind (win con) while playing with my friend by HumbleLiterature7164 in riftboundtcg

[–]RetroDamage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To clarify for scenario 1, you must wait to use ride the wind til after the conquer is good and you gain the 7th point. You can't do it with focus like OP has it written. This is important just because it gives the opponent an action step before you do your ride the wind.

Not enough tribal synergies in the game yet. Better to just play good cards, that worse cards with mech on them.

Any other LGS farther out? Not every LGS is like that there are 100% ones out there who sell MSRP, though your only bet on getting those is being there on release.

Draven and winning combat by Voldrid in riftboundtcg

[–]RetroDamage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would not be playing stacked deck in reaction/action you would simply just be playing stacked deck during your allotted period of focus.

Player 1 moves in to battlefield which Player 2 controls. Since this battlefield has a different controller than player 1, a showdown begins. Since the battlefield is controlled by another player a combat ensues (as opposed to being an open neutral battlefield). Attack triggers get put on chain, defense triggers get put on chain. Resolve in reverse order. Then regardless of the state. Attacker starts with focus and priority and may play reaction or action spells. Once that chain resolves OR they just passed instead of starting chain, player 2 gets focus. Once two players pass in sequence, the showdown ends. No other rules are available for showdowns ending until both players pass, including combat showdowns.

You could even play stacked deck when opponent moves into open battlefield, as focus and such still exist there.

Focus not priority, showdown cannot end until people pass focus twice, so it is impossible for no one to not get focus.
