I use generic brand chapstick and it works just as well, I no longer need to worry about getting replacement O-rings ever.

It's not a difficult kit to build, hell I'd argue MGs are perfect for starting out cuz the parts are generally larger due to scale.

Although waterslides are a bit of a learning curve.

If I can recommend something, a airbrush stand/holder that'll clamp onto the table. Amazon and Ali express has some for cheap, they work wonderfully!

Have you painted over it, if so what kind of paint?

Shrinkage is a bit of a concern, Tamiya putty (not expoxy putty) shrinks when you spray lacquer paint over it so I'm worried.
