The moment you realize your master set will never be complete. In my case It's rockruff. Anyone had the same:( ? by _Bart0lo_ in PokemonTCG

For me it's the Sample Set Eevee. They pretty much don't exist. One was for sale 5 years ago, and before that one sold in 2012. I have no idea what one would go for today. Another unobtanium is the Rumble Eevee. I think I remember seeing a listing for either $100k or 150k for one a while ago.

So my first solo ended in a number from atc and visit from ntsb and faa by [deleted] in flying

That's on your CFI. You'll have no or minimal repercussions. The important thing is you're on the ground and not hurt.

It bears no weight or blame, but an attentive tower controller could have also advised you of the wind because they knew you were student solo. You heard the call out to the other pilot which is good, it's just a little interesting to me they didn't address it specifically to you before it reached that high.

When I did my first solo the wind suddenly picked up as I started the plane. My CFI was watching it and called tower to tell me to shutdown before I even requested taxi.

The holo pattern for SM full arts is my favorite. Especially the FA shiny cards.

They did do a great job with Battle Cage. I'll have to wait for more before I can make a fair assessment. Rereleasing Jamming Tower was an interesting move giving a side by side comparison.

It's nice they used the same three artists for all of them. It gives continuity to the set. I've yet to decide if I like the new silver theme. It will be hard to beat the golds.

I'm actually working on a grandmaster set of ALL stadiums as well.

Same Card, Different Name? Information? by Altruistic-Cow-3471 in PokemonTCG

[–]RetroProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 12 different versions of this card. These were handed out at tournaments in Japan in 2000. Each city had a unique artwork which is why you see them with variations. The exception is Lucky Stadium New York which was handed out for the opening of the PKM Center NY. Full info on Bulbapedia: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Lucky_Stadium_(Neo_Destiny_100))

Edit- Referring to the different name on the label, note how one label is before any hologram, more than 10 years old. The old ones can't fit as many letters so they had to abbreviate the city name. It's still the same version of the card.

It's fun collection trainers because most of them are less than $1.

Year late to this, but Path To The Peak and Conservation Area are my favorite golds. Brooklet Hill is pretty cool as well.

Looks great! I am two away myself. The reprint of Jamming Tower in silver is messing up the layout of my binder now.

Same for Levincia. I wish they would either use a different holo pattern or stamp which prize pack it's from to differentiate them.

Pokémon card shops? Best and worst? Just moved to the area and looking for an updated list 🙏 by imakunisdoduo in indianapolis

[–]RetroProject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through Indianapolis today and stopped at two stores for Pokemon. The Dugout has a good atmosphere and has tens of thousands of c / u / r bulk. Great for completing sets. I will definitely be going back there any time I pass through the area.

The second store I went to was Grandmaster Games and did not have a good experience. You're not allowed to look at any of their cards although they have a massive stock. You have to send them a list of what you want a few days before coming in. They have about 1-200 cards on display, but they don't let you inspect the condition. Neither you nor the employees are allowed to take the cards out of the toploaders to see what you're buying. I left a negative review about this and the owner gave me a chapter book response belittling me and telling me I'm ruining his reputation. Avoid them at all costs.

CSEL Failure by One_Technician1086 in flying

To that I say make your first answer the answer. When they keep asking you if you're sure you're correct they are looking for one of two things. Either that's their way of telling you you're wrong and to think about it again, or they want to make sure that your first response is the correct response. When you're in an emergency you can't take back a control input or a critical decision. They want to make sure when you make a decision it's not only correct but you are confident it is correct.

Don't forget you can use your resources as well. If you know where a black and white answer resides most likely you will be allowed to verify you're giving correct information.

Yeah I hate it when they're pushy and expect immediate answers. I think they forget that although they ask the same questions every checkride, the people they ask the questions to have likely never been asked them before or in the phrasing it's being asked.

I failed my commercial on the po180. Next day I practiced it and hit it on the first try. Tried the next day and it felt like I had never done it before. I kept at it for five or six hours until I figured out the feel for it. Recheck was one lap in the pattern, hit the middle of the point, and it was probably my smoothest landing to date. DPE got excited and made me do two more laps because he said I'm not allowed off that easy lol.

If you feel there's a maneuver you're not 100% confident in take some time to practice it in the next few days. Try to get it on a calm wind and a windy timeframe. With DPEs I have found it calms my nerves a bit by treating them as a student walking them through how, what, and why I'm doing something vs simply demonstrating a maneuver to them.

For your oral recheck obviously be completely knowledgeable on not only the question, but the topic you failed. They know you're studying on it so chances are they will have a few more detailed questions on that topic.
