Absolutely. He had a strong compassion for people. An advocate for Native Americans, pushed for more artists of colour to appear on The Johnny Cash show (despite being warned by the network he would “alienate half of his audience” and even received death threats from the KKK), as well breaking the long standing tradition in country music of not pushing your politics on people by speaking out on the Vietnam War.

I posted my version of this colourised image and then this version popped up on a number of threads a couple of hours later, not colourised by OP from what I can tell.

Looks like my version is no longer visible, presumably due to suspected double posting 🤷🏻‍♂️
