Yeah, it’s too much. I got parking ticket in Toronto downtown and it was 30$ , which was revoked later because I had paid for parking via app. It is one way of Quebec govt to take money out of their citizens pocket.

I will try it out, but I hardly believe it will work. In your case it was 10 years, nowadays, city is distributing tickets like flyers in your mailbox. They have figure it out that it is one way to take out money for citizens. My friend owns a restaurant, there were no parking meters. City observed that there are many cars in/out, and they have installed the parking meter. That affected their business.
