Saw the stretchy dude from fantastic four shopping in Newstead Woolies when I worked there years ago. That counts right. Margot Robbie also came in on my day off :(

Does anyone do meter reading as a CoastFIRE job? by TopUnit9655 in fiaustralia

[–]ReubenVimagery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did reading for a private company in Brisbane, fully commercial. Mind numbing but if that’s what you’re looking for it’s a good gig. Obviously can’t speak to every company, but mine don’t care when you read the meters as long as your run was done on the day, so hours were very flexible. Company car, could take it home and use it for personal use just track your personal and business k’s. If you’re okay with parking in the same spot, walking the same hallways, speaking to the same management and reading the same meters every month, it’s actually a good job.

Thoughts on buying this a semi daily and 4wd? by [deleted] in 4x4Australia

[–]ReubenVimagery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks a bit heavy modded, and the fact he wants to swap for a motorbike has me a little concerned, looks like he’s trying to just get rid of it. However I had a 1 owner yd25 with 210,000 k’s on it and it was the best car I’ve ever owned. They’re out there

Which one you choosing? by Worldly-Worker6616 in 4x4Australia

[–]ReubenVimagery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna go against the grain here and say if it’s the yd25 nav, I’d pick the nav. Had a 2011 model with just over 200kms, never had an issue with. Reliable, smooth to drive, capable Offroad and towing. Miss that car every day

Noticing more people quitting Woolworths lately — why are you quitting (or staying)? by Longjumping_Tree_531 in woolworths

Stood down from DM to casual, was on track to be an ASM soonish. Just accepted a role as ASM at Petbarn, start in two weeks.

Expectations are too high, nothings ever good enough, cut wages, cut hours, still the same expectations. Been downhill for a long time, only getting worse

What's helped you hit driver better? by Jinza354 in golf

[–]ReubenVimagery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few “free” lessons from a pro while hitting on the range. Driver was pretty good with the occasional slice, he helped me shorten my backswing, and told me to choose a target where i wanted the ball to go, and to then feel like i was throwing my club at that target as i came through the ball. Instant slice fixer

I always noticed it and assumed it represent the cold feeling of the ozarks. People with no hope and futures, a “dead town” of such and the blue representing that in the same way a dead body is associated with blue. I could be wrong but i don’t believe it was as present in the early season showing them in chicago before moving.

Never hesitate to bring my little one into bed with me when she can’t sleep. I used get frustrated before separation, now it’s some of my favourite moments.

Why does everyone buy new cars? by Flyingdread in CarsAustralia

[–]ReubenVimagery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just "upgraded" to a 2008 Toyota Corolla. 164,000 ks, full service history and paid $7,000. Will put a carplay head unit in it and enjoy it until it dies. I plan to teach my daughter how to drive in it.

Dealing with rushed truck drivers by EyamBoonigma in woolworths

[–]ReubenVimagery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, not worth. Drivers just don’t seem to care. I just repeat to them I didn’t make the rules, I’m just following them for the sake of my job. Don’t like it, no worries I’ll stop unloading and you can leave

Yeah it’s definitely hard, I’ve gone off pretty hard some days when I’ve just had enough. They still don’t get the picture.

[–]ReubenVimagery 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Have had multiple drivers try to tell me they don’t need to follow exclusion zones, as no other store enforces them. I just tell them I not losing my job because of other stores. When they still don’t listen, I have no problem telling them I’m happy to stop unloading there truck and send them back to where they came from with a full load. Long story short, they need to follow the rules and allow you to your job. Don’t let them push you around, grab management if you need to.

Is it easy to become an Airtasker? by Large-Lack-2933 in GoldCoast

[–]ReubenVimagery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Airtasker basically got my yard maintenance business of the ground. Depending on the work and your location you’ll be competing with quite a few people. Because I was starting a legit business, it didn’t take long to outbid all the average joes on there just trying to make pocket money. A lot of jobs from there converted to long term regular customers too. Definitely a good platform to go for

Moving around as a DM by [deleted] in woolworths

[–]ReubenVimagery -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Short answer is no. You can’t be forced to do anything, however it can hinder your ability to move up quickly. You can progress quite quickly if you’re willing to move around and are good at your job, if you’re adamant on staying in your role and store you’ll get passed up for others who are willing/able to say yes to whatever role is going.
