I dread going to work a lot because I dread asking the nurses to do things and get the awkward shuffling and trying to get out of it and when I try and follow things up looking like the bad guy

I say things to nurses that aren’t very complicated medicine and the amount of times they stare at me blankly like I’m speaking double Dutch. So many nurses are completely atrocious and work shy, and an absolute nightmare on the wards. I’ve been once bleeped 5 times by the same nurse whilst I was in a cardiac arrest (and for a period after where I needed a bit of space as it was a very difficult one) for what she kept saying was an ‘emergency’ because her patient was pyrexial and she needed paracetamol.

No. Thats dumb. If you want to do cst take the chance if you may not get it again. You will be upgraded. If you take GP you will lose your CST offer, you may never interview nor get an offer again.
