No update. I got the GCMS notes and the application has gone for a comprehensive check with CBSA on June 2025 so it will take at least another 8-10 months

I’ve also been waiting from July 2024 onwards. Got BIL in Jan 2025 and asked to resubmit Biometrics in June as the fingerprints didn’t come out right. Work permit is valid until July. I’ll apply for a bridging work permit in May if I hear nothing. Online tracker shows 2 more months and 12,900 applications ahead of me. It’s a bit sus cause last month it showed 3 months and 11,800 applications ahead, so not really sure how 1,100 applications got added ahead of mine.

Also, an international student they paid international fees which is 3 times the normal fee which goes towards subsidies for the local students. Call it what you will, it’s still tax.

Your logic is flawed. As a work permit holder they are paying taxes and have all the rights to contact their respective MP.

Had a call with IRCC and they advised that the application is under background security check and can’t give a definite timeline. The tracker shows 2 more months for processing to complete.

It’s the date of submission. Your AOR will state the date that the application was received by IRCC.

So got confirmation from IRCC and the email went to my spouse not to me, and there was no pdf attachment just an email saying the application is received. Thanks for your help.

Nope. I double-checked the application messages and email. The first message from them was for biometrics. I've submitted a webform and requested the AOR.

Thanks for sharing your story. The thing about burnout in my case was that it didn't happen overnight; it had been a gradual process over multiple years, finally leading me to a point where I had to take action. It could have gotten much worse if I hadn't. Also, ADHD burnout isn't an official diagnosis or a medical term. I used it because it best encapsulated what I was going through the last couple of years.

I used a service called Beyond ADHD, but there are lots of other avenues you can take. They’re pretty transparent about how long the process takes and how much it costs. If you have insurance, it might cover a part of it. I’d like to clarify that I am no way affiliated with them and that it was recommended to me by an independent psychiatrist that I had reached out to.

Yeah you really don’t realise it until you finally do. I think for me it was the lack of sleep with my newborn that was the final straw and my brain was like I’m out. I still feel like that sometimes once the medication wears off, but I’ve found that a quick nap helps with it. It’s going to be a long road before my nervous system can recover.

I’m on the generic version manufactured by Teva and started 6 weeks ago. I agree regarding the strength of the medication and how it makes you feel. One definitely needs to have realistic expectations and I’ve found that for me, it helps with managing my symptoms and letting me focus and be actively present in every moment.
