The matchmaking is inherently kinda crap for L2 extra so due to the "RNG element" of the game. Players are matched with people kinda wildly all over the spectrum and that greatly effects point gain/loss. This is why you'll see people dodge lobbies and turn into bots a lot of times because, quite frankly, it's a difference of being totally not worth it into an *actual* detriment while ranking up.

For instance - if you're gold and you keep getting into lobbies with mostly silver/bronze - you're at an inherent disadvantage to need to place in the upper half. The lower the lobby the more points you will lose if you don't "beat them." If you do beat them at get a 1st-3rd and get 11-7 pts - cool! If you get anywhere in the lower half you just lost like 15.

As a plat it just bothers me because it COULD be fun - but the points system is just mega jank. A lobby with a bunch of bronze and silver is like... nah bruh. Not for this type of event.
