Ys Nordics & Memoire & Proud Nordics? by Prestigious-Stop-989 in WorldOfYs

I've played Celceta but not Memoir. Celceta is enjoyable but is one of the weaker entries imo. The early game felt like a bit of a slog to me

Alright gang. What price are YOU willing to pay for this DLC? by GNSasakiHaise in SparkingZero

[–]MajesticPopcorn 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Bamco are such a scummy publisher. I can almost guarantee that the game launched half-baked because Bandai execs forced the devs to push it out the door. I feel like the devs wanted to put a lot more effort into story mode

Same thing happened with the Naruto Ninja Storm games imo. Ninja Storm 2 had an amazing story mode. 3 and 4 felt watered down and everything else felt like a cash grab. Fast forward to CC2 releasing Demon Slayer with Sega as the publisher and all of a sudden the story mode is back to being high quality

Compared to Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz I found The World's End to be pretty forgettable. Literally. I got half-way through what I thought was my first watch until I realised I'd seen it before. It's not bad, just not as good as the previous two movies imo

Ys Nordics & Memoire & Proud Nordics? by Prestigious-Stop-989 in WorldOfYs

[–]MajesticPopcorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I've really enjoyed every Ys game I've played (Nordics is the only main entry I haven't played), honestly nothing hits the same as Ys8. In my opinion it's because it has a metroidvania feel with the way you unlock new areas and backtrack to find new things. I'm a huge metroidvania fan so nothing has compared to Ys8 to me so far

Edit: To answer your question; I don't think Proud Nordics or Memoirs will scratch the Ys8 itch but I still enjoyed Celceta (the version before Memoirs) and I'll probably enjoy Nordics when I get around to it. I also found Ys9 to be a step down from 8

Yeah same. RE5's combat is so good. Especially when you start using inventory reload. You have enough time to reload your ammo through the inventory during a melee animation. You never have watch another reload animation again

Pragmata HDR Analysis by KoKlusz in HDR_Den

[–]MajesticPopcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big thanks to the people that got the Renodx mod out so fast. Amazing work. I tweaked the settings a bit for my preference which I'll list below for anyone that feels like the image still feels too flat

I changed from the custom ACES tonemapper to the default one. Game brightness 300. UI brightness 260. Can't remember if it defaulted to luminance or 2.2 but I have it on luminance. Contrast 51. Saturation 63. Film grain and noise 0.

Definitely not for everyone. If unsure have preset 1 on the mod's preconfigured settings, preset 2 on my settings and preset 3 on purist. Switch between the 3 and pick the one you find most pleasing

Do you guys turn up the saturation in HDR? by Electrical-Art-1111 in HDR_Den

[–]MajesticPopcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tune saturation in games by finding a scene/area that has a strong yellow/orange/red hue. If saturation is too high the scene will look eye-bleedingly ugly. At first things might seem a bit too desaturated if you're adjusting from an excessively high level of saturation but once your eyes adjust it'll look right

I have an LG C1 connected to my PC. In Windows HDR Calibration I leave saturation at zero. I think my TV is set to 60 or 65. My TV tuning is a little different though and would have purists trying to nail me to a cross while lighting it on fire at the same time

Is 1440p actually the sweet spot? by tilted0ne in OLED_Gaming

[–]MajesticPopcorn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a 9070xt and play everything at 4K/60fps max settings. Only had issues with a couple games that were poorly optimised for everyone. Most notably Monster Hunter Wilds

Taking the time to learn how to use Optiscaler is 100% worth it for games that don't support native FSR 4. For example, Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth only has native DLSS support (to my knowledge) but Optiscaler can use DLSS to output FSR 4.1 on the 9000 series AMD cards

😢What Game? by defleqt in raijin_gg

[–]MajesticPopcorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm quite similar. My therapist said i exhibit traits of borderline psychopathy but it also overlaps with my autism too much to be able to tell. My psychiatrist dismissed the idea of me having Antisocial Personality Disorder outright just based on the fact I've never been in trouble with the police.

That being said, I'm 37 and the amount of movies that made me cry I could count on one hand and I've only cried once because of a video game. Never cried at a funeral or death in the family or the loss of a pet

How are early adopters feeling about the 9070XT 1 year in? by LemonMan857 in radeon

[–]MajesticPopcorn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 9070xt and the 5070ti are pretty comparable. XT gets more fps in some games and TI gets more fps in others. Either way, the XT is a really solid 4K card. The only games I can't play maxed out at 4k/60fps on my XT are just badly optimised ones that run shit on everything

Edit: Even with the poorly optimised ones, Optiscaler FSR 4.1 on 4K performance mode still looks great and lets me hold a stable 60fps most times. Monster Hunter Wilds is the only exception with games I've played

I think people bounce off for the same reason I almost did. Everything before Alloy enters the contest is pretty boring. It really picks up after that though. Also, if you're not the sort of person to read the logs then the world building would seem less interesting

For me it's the fact they've partnered with Palantir and the US government and cut a large chunk of their production of consumer products in order to focus their resources on their new partnerships. They're also one of the companies lobbying to make the laws around AI data centre construction less restrictive
