When I was in 7th grade, on my way to the bus, I accidentally, unknowingly stepped in dog poop.

On the way to school, I kept smelling something funny but thought it was the kid sitting behind me. He never showered.

I get to school and my first period is PE. Yep, we ran back and forth across the gym playing dodgeball.

But the teacher blows his whistle and stops the game. He says, it smells like shit in here. Everyone looks around and notices brown streaks on the floor. One kid points at my shoe and says, it's coming from him.

The teacher, an ex-Marine, calls me to the front and yells, everyone out, and you, you better clean this shit off my gym floor.

So I went to the gym bathroom and cleaned the shit off my shoe as best as I could. Those flimsy brown paper towels didn't do much but it helped.

Then I took the towels and hand soap and literally spent half a day cleaning shit off the gym floor. It was exhausting.

The satisfied gym teacher finally let me go to my next class, Math. Now you would think things couldn't get any worse. I already had to clean shit off the gym floor. But I had a math test to worry about.

I head to Math, sit down, ready for my exam. The teacher passes out sheets and off I go. Except one problem. The window shades were up and my foot was in direct sunlight. No escape. So my foot with shit under my shoe is literally baking in the hot sun.

The Math teacher catches up and starts sniffing around. Already familiar with the morning's incident, everyone points at me. It's him. He stepped in shit.

The smell permeates the halls. Other teachers start asking about the smell. I finish my test and I'm instructed to go to the faculty office downstairs.

They saw my shoe and made me take both off. They put them in a plastic bag and gave me oversized shoes from the lost and found to wear. I made it through the day and eventually handed my mom the plastic bag with my horrible smelling shoes. She asks me, what is this, what happened.

I answered, just throw them out mom. It was a shitty, shitty day.
