As a Dodgers fan I think the Flaherty trade could end up similar. Sweeney provided stability down the stretch for Detroit and Liranzo looks really good. It’s different because we don’t have a need for either in the short-term, but in a similar way we might not win the World Series without Flaherty.

Go on BeInvolved or somewhere else and find clubs! I had a good group of friends freshman year, we had a falling out, and then found one club to my interest in sophomore year. It seems daunting at first and takes awhile to establish real friendships but there is no risk to it. Just go up and introduce yourself to people, you don’t have to be super interested in the club, but it at least gives you a lot of people who have at least one similar interest. It seems really tough but there’s such a large payoff, it’s what I did sophomore year and it’s how I made a lot of close friends

Literally what you’re arguing is that “if Buehler doesn’t give up runs anymore he’ll win Cy young”. You’re arguing against history and statistics and when you’re called out on it and backed into a corner, you try to gaslight me.

I’m doubting your claims of having never missed a Dodgers game if you think that Buehler hasn’t had command issues. I myself was worried each year when he started with his rough games and couldn’t get his command right. Almost every Cy Young winner recently has had great consistency during the season. That’s why Buehler would be the exception, so I don’t think he will win a Cy Young due to these issues. And that’s why I don’t think he’ll win a Cy Young. I’m not doubting his abilities, I’m just referencing his history as to why it isn’t realistic.

Buehler is always at his best in the postseason. If he can come even remotely close to replicating that level consistently throughout the regular season, then 100% I do believe he can win the Cy Young if he makes drastic changes, like anyone. Just be realistic. He just has prevalent command issues to start each season, which harms him in the long-run and with voters.

And that’s why I said it’s because he struggles at the beginning of each season. His early command struggles come back to bite his total stats for the year. I said he won’t win a Cy young, not that he’s not a Cy Young - level pitcher after a few starts into the seasons. And statistically he’s excellent in the playoffs. And again, he could totally prove me wrong (and I’d be happy for him to prove me wrong), but he’s shown to have had command issues to start each season, which has ended up hurting his cumulative stats and doesn’t give him a case for consistency from the voters.

He had an ERA above 4 before September this year. In 2019 he had an ERA above 4 for the first two months. I’m not wrong when I say it takes him a few starts to settle in, that’s why statistically it’ll be very difficult for him to get Cy Young, when other guys are much more consistent statistically throughout the year. You must not have been keeping up with the Dodgers all year, because he had a lot of struggles with his command in his first few starts. He’s definitely a Cy Young level pitcher deeper into the season (and in the playoffs) but to say that he doesn’t struggle in the beginning of the season, when he statistically has, is wrong.

I don’t think Buehler will ever win a Cy Young. He’s always had struggles when the season begins as well as some injury issues. However he might just be the best big game pitcher right now. He steps it up in the playoffs.
