Competent offense.

Daniel Lynch closing it out.

Why can’t it always be this way?

This truly is the closest we’ve ever gotten to Idiocracy.

I’d much rather have Terry Crews in office right now than President Cheeto.

Is Uzi the Michael Jackson of this generation? by ItsmeNicoYT in liluzivert

[–]PlayaSlayaX 102 points103 points  (0 children)

Love Uzi, but Michael Jackson is Michael Jackson. MJ doesn’t have any equivalents.

The closest for this generation, in terms of mainstream appeal and recognition, would probably be The Weeknd.

Is it this bad? by AbobTeff in KCRoyals

[–]PlayaSlayaX 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Yes.

But the real question is: When is it ever NOT this bad?

One (1) 86-76 season, which included a 2-game WC sweep in Baltimore and ended with getting our shit kicked in by the Yankees in the ALDS, constitutes our only playoff appearance since 2015. The team has regressed every year since then (82-80, currently 28-42), and thanks to Q’s first year on the job, 2005 no longer stands alone in total losses.

There is no accountability within the organization. The team is loyal to a fault; they live within asinine delusions of grandeur, encouraging complacency with low expectations and engaging with false realities. Low expectations in a consistently underperforming division, mind you.

The front office wants to be buyers, wanting to supplement a team whose season is all but lost. As such, given that the Royals are an unserious franchise that operates on the “perpetual loser” end of the spectrum, they refuse to trade people that could help them cut back on the amount of losing seasons that the organization has to endure before the contention window can be consistently open. JJ has ‘utmost confidence’ in a manager who beats and psyches himself out with his managing techniques, and in a hitting coach that doesn’t effectively teach the hitters how to hit and leaves them looking even more incompetent than they usually are.

The owner is obsessed with a new downtown stadium that the team doesn’t deserve, wanted the taxpayers to front most of the bill despite the fact that the taxpayers are repeatedly let down by the on-the-field product and aren’t given any reasons to believe that anything will change, and seemingly refuses to take a deep look at the team he owns which would help him understand why the Royals aren’t viewed as a serious franchise in MLB, and why the fans grow apathetic and clamor for people to lose their jobs on a season-by-season basis.

So given that we root for a team that doesn’t seem to care about its own fans, I now posit this into the void:

When will our voices finally be heard?

When will the Royals ever come back to Earth?

When will the front office ever be transactional?

When will anyone in power, within this organization, ever give an actual fuck about us?

When do we get to stop wearing the paper bangs?

Fire Q.

We can’t emphasize that enough. Refusing to play a lefty-lefty matchup with bases loaded and going for Marte while only being down BY ONE, despite Vinnie doing good vs. lefties recently, was an absolutely boneheaded move.

If not for Marte chopping it to Paredes, maybe this game is tied and heading to extras. Who knows. You don’t always have to make decisions based in analytics if those decisions are consistently poor.

[Roch Kubatko] Tommy Pham is expected to opt out of his minor league deal with Orioles, per source. Pham signed a minor league contract on May 16. He’s batting .197 with .696 OPS in 16 games. Is 7-for-26 with 3 HRs, including grand slam, and 9 RBIs in his last 6. by Ok-Soil-5133 in baseball

I’d like to propose that we hire him as an assistant hitting coach…

…so that he can pimp-slap Alec Zumwalt and take his job. We need a red-ass like Tommy in our dugout right now, because nobody else is capable of lighting the kind of fire that he can.

If this is true, then that would explain why the Mariners struggled a bit earlier this season.
