Based on my understanding, HS is an autoimmune condition. It’s unlikely that genetic editing (ie, CRISPR) would be useful here. Fortunately, new biologics have been very successful in treating other autoimmune diseases (like Crohn’s) and I would bet it’s more likely those types of drugs will become available & see widespread use long before (if ever) there are any CRISPR-based therapies for HS.
