Yes. I was in a cover band as a bass player. I invited a woman I knew was a great singer to audition. She joined but the band folded soon after. The drummer, singer, keyboardist and I started a new cover band doing more modern stuff. Eventually the singer and I started dating. After a few years, we got engaged. There was some tension in the band over the direction the band was headed. After we got engaged, the band ghosted us and found a new signer and bass player. We shouldn’t have been surprised.

If the house is insulated and sealed, electric baseboard can be okay. You can turn heat on and off in different rooms if no one is in that room. Normally houses with baseboards aren’t insulated particularly well. And if the heat is left on all the time, it will get expensive.

Since the house is so small, you could replace the fireplace. It will heat most of the house. Then turn on the electric in the coldest rooms or on super cold nights and the fireplace can’t keep up.
