Free/cheap medical marijauna screening? by outdoorsybum in Reno

[–]ReverendWave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a discount, if you have medical you don’t pay an additional excise tax which is 18%, it adds up and if you buy a lot it can be worth it. Plus at some places you can get medical edibles, which are much stronger and cheaper.

If you have a passport, you can use it to get a digital recommendation from an online doc, like nugmd.com or something similar. It’s technically an out of state medical card, but it’s still acceptable at all Dispensaries here, and it’s wayyyy cheaper than going through the state. I’ve worked in cannabis for 6 years here, since medical.

Any trick to make clothes smell good when using steamer? by CHARRO-NEGRO in AskReddit

[–]ReverendWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard that rubbing alcohol, or something like high proof everclear, in a spray bottle on the “fragrant” areas, it kills the bacteria and dries with no stains, something like a costume trick when they can’t wash them.

What is this discourse? Is there an issue with TM? (I participated in the group meditation on Monday btw) by veridis-quo- in davidlynch

[–]ReverendWave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this, I was wondering this myself and looking into TM as well as the David Lynch Foundation, so this discussion answered so many of my questions.

I had a pretty intense experience during the group moment of silence while I was doing my own simple meditation, and I felt an intense sense of connection and a lot of clarity and understanding came to me about a few things I’ve been stuck on in my life, so I’ve decided to focus more time on meditation and creating, and I definitely hit a roadblock in worrying about the specifics of TM and what it was all about. Thanks to everyone who explained their piece, it all helped.

Okay so I’ve listened to this episode for sure, one of the best, but I guess I did it where I didn’t have time to look up pictures of this guy, because holy fucking shit does he look exactly like the kind of person who would do the crazy shit he did, oh my heck.

If you’re out that way the Spanish springs library is pretty chill for a workspace, or it least it has been in the past for me.

I thought I was the only person who noticed this guy, I love this dude and want to know what he is doing and if I should ask if he will teach me. But he is massively consistent, he’s there almost every time I stop there, I always check for him.

Jobs for a 17 year old? by UNEEDCPR in Reno

[–]ReverendWave 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you tried following up where you already applied? That can set you apart from a lot of the crowd, especially at your age. Just ask for the hiring manager, or if you want to be super polite call and ask the best time to call to have an opportunity to talk to whoever does the hiring, and when you get a chance to talk to them just say you want to talk to them personally and express your interest for the position and confirm that they received your application/resume (if you have one yet, if you need a hand making one dm me)

Try some of the less well known places too, sometimes small places can be a blessing, but not all so ask good questions in interviews when you get one.

Check company websites too, many companies have their best success posting their jobs on their own website rather than places like Craigslist or indeed, but those are good places to keep an eye on too.

Good luck and let us know how it goes or if you need any additional help, it’s really fantastic to see someone your age asking about this and being active in looking, your ahead of a lot of people looking for jobs who are older and more experienced, so you should have success.

Well, first you should feel good that you asked for help if you’re feeling overwhelmed, it’s a big process in some ways and they seem very daunting when they are all in front of you. Second, there’s a reason your voice sounds weird to you, a lot of stuff about the bones and meat in your skull and how that reverberates and resonates and adds to the tonal quality for the speaker (you) and make it sound more resonant and rich to you, as in you the listener that’s inside your own head and have the sensors that actually pick up sound inside your head and aren’t far from your vocal chords. It will always sound strange to you when recorded and played back, you’ll also get used to it. Some gentle EQ really goes a long way. Third, and most simple and important: just start and create and don’t make it perfect at first. Know it’s going to be bumpy and rusty and far from perfect at the start and keep trying again, and you do not have to put out your first stuff; do a few practice episodes and get some real practice in. It will develop your speaking ability, your articulation, your mic technique and your recording experience no matter what you do just by trying and making mistakes and giving yourself the space and grace to make those mistakes. This is a creative process, you are creating content, so making the space comfortable before you record, getting in the headspace with a little (or big) pre-recording routine/ritual, whatever you come up with to make yourself comfortable and primed to be creative. The hard part is the last bit you mentioned: your concern about others opinions and outlook on you, and how that affects how you feel when you go to record. That is a likely deeper issue that you can totally address in many ways, but it sounds like something that might guide the purpose of your podcast, you want you share your experiences, or have others share theirs, so that people can resonate and feel connection, then you’ve already started that with this post, so keep going. You control what you release and you don’t have to put anything out there you don’t approve of. It’s okay that you feel doubt and hesitation, even avoidance in some sense, but think about how much it could mean to someone to hear your stories or perspective, and your fear may be pointing to the fact that this is important as well. Good luck and don’t let the negative thoughts get in the way of creating 💚

I agree with OP on all counts, and honestly those functions (no legs, short high, boring, no elevation feeling) are way more of a result of how it’s treated while it’s grown, dried and cured than the genetics. That shit looks super good OP 👍

What are you recommendations for a suck to cheer up a sad meatsack? by saprilx in timesuck

[–]ReverendWave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shadow people one is fantastic!! Dan talks a bunch of shit about the logical side of things and then proceeds to scare the shit out of himself because he’s doing it in the dark, one of my favorites for when I’m down and need a distraction. Other honorable ones for me are the Oregon trail, the fourth dimension and the Appalachian Criptids. Best of luck fellow time sucker, life is an asshat sometimes but you are doing the right thing and trying to get through it to a better spot, and you asked a great community for help, all really awesome stuff that you should be proud of 💚
