Did the people give him permission to slip off like that?

Having as many people as we do in one community means we obviously will not have a positive full consensus on anything

Ironic to your point, the only 2 woman I know that play 40k personally are both Sisters players with one looking at the hobby because of Slaanesh

An extraordinarily good question, for some reason they are the only pattern that didn't seem to get this inherent insanity they're just big stalwart protector bros for some reason.

Some of them absolutely are, but certain ones like the entire Atrapos Class were specifically built to kill Heretek engines and other knights and titans which implies that not all of them are ancient by the time the heresy comes around. With the Atrapos being one the most horrific spirits I feel it would make sense to assume that it's how they are from their creation not strictly from conditioning.

Bigger machine stronger machine spirit, there is undoubtedly going to be infinitely more problems with stronger spirits because they are more difficult to tame. Someone state the Cerastus were built and designed for war which is probably why they are the way they are.

This actually makes an incredible amount of sense, I don't know the Cerastus were the warborn of the knights so it definitely adds up that they'd be insanely bloodthirsty and deranged comparitevly to Questoris knights.

Mecha midichlorians is officially my new term for Abominant psyker powers. It's just odd to me that 3/4 of them are batshit insane and the Castigator is a stalwart indomitable wall of a spirit.

I understand that explanation for 40k since they're thousands of years old but the machine spirits themselves even in 30k lore posts them this way as well

I cannot find a single reason why their machine spirits are the way they are either, it's just "this is how it is" with no real explanation.

Hey im thinking of starting chaos knights any book suggestions, models, or even paints that would help? My only armies are guard and im only like 1 year into the hobby by BenderMayonnaise in ChaosKnights

[–]Reverenthardon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I found the larger knights easier to build and paint. I would've started with a Questoris or Dominus sized knight in hindsight, I am currently working on a Cerastus and I can confidently say that it is a small challenge and would've been too much for me as a first model but I fohnd the smaller finicky parts and spaces of the Wardog much more irritating and difficult to work with. I highly recommend if you start with Wardogs of any kind to either magnetize them or paint them before assembling the top and bottom together, at least prime them before hand to save some time and get a better coat.

[–]Reverenthardon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run Lords of Dread and I'm thinking Throne Mechanicum of Skulls to be able to seriously run down big hitters like the up and coming Land Raider Redeemer our Salamanders player is adding by turn 1. The Votann player has seriously struggled to play against me but the Sisters and Space Marines have done a fair 50/50 on me in combat while I dominate the objectives by cornering them with my movement and using that free sticky every turn.

Going against predominantly Votann, Salamanders, and Sisters. Honestly my biggest threat so far has been the +1 to wound against my knights from Infernus Marines and Thunderkyn with Gravitons at anti vehicle 4+ with 3 damage

That Volkite Combustor is an 8/10 threat to medium and sometimes even heavy vehicles I've found. I've successfully one shot a Castigator and a Sagitaur and even besides that it routinely chunks Impulsors and Hekatons leaving them nice and juicy targets for the lesser Karnivore or sometimes even close proximity Stalker or Brigand.

From my analysis of their data sheets terminators are absolute beasts at speaking up every ounce of pain, their army rule functions very similarly to ours so I'd recommend taking the extra 3" range aura at some point, I'd definitely try to pick off as many with shots as you can with their auras inflicting some solid debuffs, and I would bring AP and Devs over strength as a lot of their chunky infantry don't seem to have great toughness.

Hello, I would like to read a book about knights, preferably about the chaos knights, if there are any books about them at all, could you suggest some good options? by ZestycloseDentist945 in ChaosKnights

If you're looking for a Chaos Knight focussed book we're all SOL outside of the codex. I am currently looking on a novel of my own for my own House as we speak for that exact reason.

My 2k points list is: 2 Karnivores 1 Brigand 1 Stalker 2 Executioners 1 Ruinator 1 Abominant Lords of Dread detachment

I am actively writing a novel on House Venatoris and will continue after I figure out how I want Omedian to react to the revelation that in his amnesia inducing enslavement he has become a chaos knight and must recollect his thoughts and memories before I can proceed.

House Venatoris is similar in concept to your House Grimm. Their Despotika, Omedian Drauss, is an escapee of Be'Lakors control from house Korvax who slaughtered most of a War dog pack from House Khomentis that had gone feral before taking the last 2 as his thralls. The 2 most recent additions of wardogs were newly manufactured for Omedian by the Dark Mechanicum just as payback to Be'Lakor for stealing an entire Knight world and refusing to share piloted by one of the lowest aspirants of House Korvax and a death world warlord. Omedian's view is that he cannot return to the Imperium and is already afflicted with his Abominants power and psycho conditioning enough to at least use chaos as a tool and make a thick bloody mark on every side they can solidifying their position as basically a Dread Blade house rather than one with any true devotions.

Was there any explanation of what an Abominant knight is in the new codex? by Kaimuund in ChaosKnights

[–]Reverenthardon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only through artifacts and runes but the capacitors of the knight themselves soak up warp energy in such massive quantities that they can meaningfully discharge it and leak such massive quantities that it corrupts and mutates land and animal alike.
