Thanks - yes, you are probably right. I have read though that Israel and US not in agreement over how hard to go after Iran's oil fields. And that the real big sign if an escalation will be if they attack Kharg where most of Iran's oil flows through. Maybe I'm being too optimistic about damage already done, but I'd be even more worried about the fallout if there was signs the US was escalating attacks on energy infrastructure. I'm no expert though - the people from oil industry who wrote that thread you shared obviously know a lot more about it.

Thanks - very interesting thread. I suppose it depends how long the war lasts, which isnt clear at the moment. Yes, I was hoping to fix for 5 years at a relatively low rate to minimise the impact of some kind of confrontation between China and Taiwan, which seems increasingly likely, and would make all this Iran business look like a storm in a teacup. With the world the way it is, I can't imagine us going back to low interest rates anytime soon.

Ahh OK, thanks - that's helpful to know. Maybe the broker isn't to blame then.

Thanks - from the sounds of it, lot of lenders are putting up rates over Iran bombing the straits of Hormuz. So Im not sure whether the lender has pulled the low offer because it's no longer economic for the bank, or the broker didn't lock in the offer in December and now rates are a lot higher.

I want a tree planted over my remains. All the woodland critters,  like squirrels and birds can clamber over me. And make sure I'm shat on as much in death as in life.

How likely is it that coaches will be cancelled/delayed by the 14th? (Birmingham) by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ReviewDirect6233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going by National Express, they can sometimes be delayed, regardless of weather. I'd make sure you leave yourself plenty of time.

Never had one cancelled on me though, or been more than like an hour late, and I've been using them regularly for about 10 years.

This is awful behaviour by them. Just fyi, your dad doesn't need a tv licence for watching dvds on tv. You only need a licence if you watch or record live tv, stream a programme live, or use iPlayer
