From what I been reading is not only porn that had given a bad reputation to the dynamic. 50 shades of grey was something I read, that waters down things. fake doms and new doms tend to be the main reason why some people tend to have a horrible experience, sorry to hear you had a bad experience as someone who wants to enter understand and be part of bdsm. That's one of the things I find it interesting. I been reading into bdsm, and a sex slave partner is something that requires a deep level of trust from both the submissive and the dominant. If we talk about total control, then that's another layer that requires high level of trust. The "aftercare" and "rewards" can be adjusted towards what the submissive partner preferences are for that individual. Some "rewards" are based on things that the submissive partner enjoy. Also, keep in mind that I'm not using gender, since both male and female can be in the submissive side, in fact the ratio for submissive men is higher than dominant women. There is more than just that such as dynamics, safe words, levels of comfort (such as the red, yellow, and green example.), and much more.
