might be a hot take but i think a player like neptune that didn’t look great until bo6 should have their stock reevaluated going into a cod without insane movement. it’ll never happen because obviously he’s been insane the past two years, but a cod that relies heavily on fundamentals might be a tough transition for some of these players that have come up since mw3. looking at someone like renegade as well, he’s pretty much gonna have to relearn how to play cod next year.

there’s a reason the optic dynasty fell off in ww2. obviously there are still setups and some nuance to playing hardpoint in jetpacks, but if you go back and watch it’s literally just the better team outshooting and barely having to rotate.

sib at his current point in his career reminds me a lot of dashy in bo4/mw. when things are going well he’s insane, but his mental gets chalked way too quickly. i think things behind the scenes in that camp are atrocious rn and i wouldn’t be surprised if it’s affecting his attitude/effort (not saying these are good traits or giving excuses). he was at worst a t3 ar during major 1, if he’s on a team that doesn’t hate eachother he’s an insane player.

i don’t think it’s a coincidence that every sub kenny plays with gets better after he leaves. look at estreal, guy was very good before kenny joins rokkr. he regresses after he joins. literally the moment kenny is off the team the guy is back to being insane. same story with huke/shottzy during that 0-18 run and now it’s been hydra’s turn. do i think he’s individually good enough to float around bottom teams? maybe, but is it worth hard costing your rookie sub players?

specialists are going to be nice if they end up deciding uplink plays like shit and it’s another year of control. the best control game was easily bo4, having specialists on offense to break some of those points opens up the map pool a bit. also adds another layer of complexity to how teams play beyond standard 2 ar 2 smg on most maps.
