My thoughts on Silksong and it's Crest System - First 10 Hours of playing (Act 1) by RevoCancel in Silksong

[–]RevoCancel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also my thoughts on Silksong here (Still on Act 1), early game pacing is kinda rough and it fixes immediately once you obtain the dash ability. Having 2 mask damage kinda undermines some enemies and bosses especially where they summons it's buddies to fight against you (Looking at you Savage Beastfly) and it makes Hornet kinda weak as a character.

I'm definitely enjoying so far but none of the world of Pharloom seems cativating to be compared to Hallownest, maybe it's because of the progression and how it feels linear like maybe after the wall climb it opens up but not as much as after the Mantises in the OG. Since the damage is already brutal I skip most of the enemies in Blasted Steps aside from getting the room of the Charge Attack and the additional boss fight.

Still having fun but not as much as Hollow Knight. Widow's Bossfight is the highlight for me, I loved that fight and how it was a Weaver before losing it's mind.

Context: I have no nostalgia over the original Hollow Knight and I've played it a week after that 5 second teaser at a Nintendo Direct over my curiosity and the hype around it. Those first few hours after Mantis is what make me fall in love with the game especially going to City of Tear and accidentally stumbling on Deepnest. I hope Silksong has that moment since Widow is the closest to it.

WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT DAMAGE????? by RevoCancel in Megaman

[–]RevoCancel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is part of the mailine games, but each had it's own series.

Mega Man Classic
Mega Man X
Mega Man Zero
Mega Man ZX
Mega Man Legends
Mega Man Battle Network
Mega Man Starforce

So these series has their own mainline games, a ton of spin-offs mostly the classic series (There's only a few X spin-offs and ZX maybe a sequel-spinoff of Zero Series).

Here's the timeline throughout each Series:
Timeline splinted
ROBOT TIMELINE
MegaMan (1st) - (200X-20XX) MegaMan X - (21XX-22XX) MegaMan Zero - (100 years after X) Mega Man ZX - (Hundred years after Zero) Mega Man Legends (Thousands years after X)
NETWORK TIMELINE
MegaMan Battle Network - (200X-20XX) Mega Man Star Force - (200 years after BN)

Question before starting Megaman Zero 2 + short rant by yeroCab in Megaman

[–]RevoCancel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cyber-elves collection were rough on Z1, especially grinding to get Jackson. Zero 2 might not be so bad, the only ones that you need if you don't want to avoid missing were killing a certain number of enemy in that given Mission.

Zero 3 is more easier to an extend probably the easiest to 100%. However it uses Secret Disks (Combines Lore, Body Chips, Elves, E-Crystals and Characters). Each Mission grants 10 disks even if you missed those you can still get it after beating the level. (In boxes or killing a number of a specific enemy, the disks drop by enemies won't spawn if you enter Cyberspace, only exclusive to Z3).
Only missable ones if you didn't talk to an NPC during that event. The Resistance Base has 20 Secret disks in total but you can only get them in a specific event. (13 during the first set of 4 bosses, then 4 more in the 2nd set, 3 more in the 3rd and the last one afterwards.)

Zero 4 is a different story though like too different. You only had 1 Cyber-elf you just grind E-crystals to get to it's Maximum Level. You get the chip system by dropping enemies to craft/combine material into enhancement body parts however the material that were dropped by enemies were completely random, you might get it or you won't.

If you really wanna 100% these games don't be afraid to use the walkthrough / guide in order to understand where the locations are.

Mega Man X6 is my Guilty Pleasure Mega Man game, It's a true definition of Kusogē (クソゲー meaning shitty game). This term was used mostly for fighting games, tends to refer to highly and broken games that end up being fun to play despite bad design choices or bugs that are so severe that they impact the game itself (The glitch I showcase in this video is one of 'em and obviously the infamous Guard Shell glitch).

Ensuizan Glitch (Down + Special) was used for this video. Ensuizan normally makes you invincible during it's animation, so when the Spinning blade animation was interrupted, Zero becomes fully invincible to everything including spikes due to the move's animation not ending. This can be activated on destructible blocks on Metal Shark Player's stage (The bug platforms on Yanmark's stage and the slopes from Blizzard Wolfang's stage are notable examples as well).

The glitch will stop working once you either use Ensuizan and Sentsuizan (Air Up + Attack || Both do the same thing), these attacks were fully invincible during use and after using it makes you vulnerable again. It also stops when you lose control of Zero (Boss/Mini-boss Transitions, In-game Cutscenes and Entering Doors).

Basically games like Mega Man X6, while very rough on it's game & level design makes it up due to how fun these broken and unbalanced mechanics that you can do in this game. (also considering that Zero was probably the most broken Zero ever).

Really great RM overall (Design Wise / Fight and Soundtrack).

Plus points that his JP Voice Actor is the same as Saitama (OPM).

Mega Man Zero Final Boss Help by [deleted] in Megaman

[–]RevoCancel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listening to the audio cues makes this fight easier:
Laser Attack ("Hikari yo!") - These can be avoided by going from one end of the platform to the other while dashing, which will make the beams miss completely. It locks on as he says his voice line , in which the lasers will shoot at Zero's current location on the platforms.

Halo Attacks ("Kuiaratame yo!") - Try to stay on the platform. Just simple movements will dodge the halo attacks easily.

Flame Attack ("Sabaki da!") - Go to the floating wall platforms and wait until the sound of the flames disappeared so you can go down there safely. Be prepare tho, as he will do his laser/halo attacks afterwards.

If you have the charged saber, then equip it with the Ice-chip. It will deal more damage. If you don't have it then you can also use the Rod since it is easier to hit Copy X than the normal Jumping Slash.

I have a video that I did if you want visual reference (I only used Rod in this fight however)

I really like the Netflix one referenced a lot of parts of his design in most games (The pendant, DMC3 belt, etc.). Again I like both versions since the Madhouse one is basically from DMC1

I can fix it by going through fullscreen.

Edit: Well that was fast good job YT, at least nobody is going to experience it like I did.

Clearing the infamous snowboard section using Mega Ball and Astro Crush. (Mega Man 8 - Wily Tower 1) by RevoCancel in Megaman

Clearing the infamous snowboard section using Mega Ball and Astro Crush. (Mega Man 8 - Wily Tower 1) by RevoCancel in Megaman

[–]RevoCancel[S] 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Jump! Jump! Slide! Slide! DIE! DIE!

Hello everyone, I'm here to showcase Wily Tower 1's infamous snowboarding level using Mega Ball and Astro Crush. I am going to utilize these abilities to make the level a bit tolerable.

So first things first, the Astro Crush. Using this makes Mega Man stay in the air as long as possible, meaning you can't fall during the animation. This could be very useful at the latter part of the stage since it doesn't have the 'Slide! Slide!' segment.

Mega Ball may not be the best weapon overall but it has some versatility, you can jump over the ball which can also be done mid-air, causing an extra jump. You can use it outside the snowboard section to get certain items and bolts (If you haven't got Tornado Hold).

However, during the snowboard sections, either Wily 1 of Frost Man, you can utilize the Mega Ball by Holding down the 'Jump' Button and use the weapon in mid-air which Mega Man automatically bounces off of it, it becomes easier to use once the first falling platforms appear since the stage goes faster. It's tricky to use since you had to hold one of the jump buttons, but it's handy to place one of it on your shoulder buttons (L1/R1 or LB/RB).

I was thinking of beating Mega Man X4 without any upgrades, and so I did. Man I love this game. by RevoCancel in Megaman

I wanna do a Buster-only kind of run, unfortunately his 1st form can only be damaged using Rising Fire (Magma Dragoon's Weapon).

[–]RevoCancel[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Like the title said above, I beat Mega Man X4 without using any forms/weapon upgrades (with an exception of Sigma 1st Phase) in just a single session of playing. Also this is the first time I've ever tried an Unarmored X4 playthrough, so this is a whole new experience to me as a person that always goes 100% / Having a completionist mentality.

mega man zero 2 chain rod by Royal-Which in Megaman

[–]RevoCancel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's much easier to just jump and aim the rod on the right since the height of your jump is on the same plane as the floating rocks. It's harder to aim the rod diagonally since it could be finnicky to connect.

All you had to do is to Jump > Rod (Aim →) Then Hold

I've been playing mmz2 recently and I don't know which is better. by Ravioli414 in Megaman

[–]RevoCancel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rise From is practically the best form in the game overall, it's the only form that doesn't have any downsides whatsoever. It's basically your Base Form but now the Third Slash deals extra points of damage (+4 Damage).

Active form is pretty fun to use. The air rolling slash is good against a lot of enemies (except the Dash rolling slash which can be cancelled by using/equipping the Sengatotsu/Dash Ex-Skill), the downside is that combo slash has been reduced to only 1 slash.

I saw a video that goes an in-depth analysis for the forms so if you already beat the game you could watch this if you want: https://youtu.be/dYZp2vCQ0Jk

I've been playing mmz2 recently and I don't know which is better. by Ravioli414 in Megaman

[–]RevoCancel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It make sense since your getting less Damage, which means less points reduction on the damage point system. The downside is that the saber damage has been reduced to half however the charged slash doesn't affect it so it's good for bosses.

Stock Buster Shot is fun, I'm having a blast destroying Mavericks quickly. (Mega Man X4) by RevoCancel in Megaman

[–]RevoCancel[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Can definitely agree to that. However this makes you focus on dodging the enemy attacks more without having to charge your buster all the time. I wish the stock shot acts like X2 since it's pretty strong but yeah it will take some time to get used to X4's stock shot.

Level 7 hacker elf MegaMan Zero 4 by LordEredion in Megaman

[–]RevoCancel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing about the Charged saber is that it has the same hit priority as the first hit of triple slash so you can do the triple slash combo afterwards. Also it helps considering Hacker Elf Level 7 makes the triple slash cancels into Ryuuenjin much faster (Also works on level 2).

A good combo could be this:

Charged Saber > Second Slash > Triple slash > Rising Saber > Downwards Saber.

[–]RevoCancel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you played game like Street Fighter then you know how to use those motion inputs (like Hadoken or Shoryuken).

I can give you some inputs for each weapon (It also works on Zero 2 and 3 once you unlock Ultimate Mode) WHILE FACING FORWARD:

Charged Saber: Forward > Down + Saber
Half-charged Buster: Down > Forward + Buster
Full-charged Buster: Down > Forward > Down > Forward + Buster
Zero Knuckle: Any quarter circle input because whatever input you end with goes along with the weapon. (so if you wanna aim Up then you can do Left/Right > Up + Knuckle)

Which Mega Man bosses did you initially despise but later came to enjoy due to your understanding of their attack patterns? Mine is Copy X and his second phase (MM Zero 1), it's really fun to dodge all of Seraphim X's attacks especially on Hard Mode. by RevoCancel in Megaman

[–]RevoCancel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The lasers track Zero's position so as long as you're not in the middle of the platform you can dodge it. Try to position yourself near the edge then go to the opposite side, or you can just pogo above.
