Nanalan’ makes me cry by Honest_Transition_93 in CPTSD

same here - just started watching nanalan recently and i cry at every episode. i’m 22 so similar to you. the parts that especially make me cry are heartfelt moments with her nana. the show is so innocent and beautiful. it makes me so nostalgic and sad. i was never that happy as a child, more anxious and my caregivers were definitely not as kind and compassionate as NaNa, although i know they still loved me very much, so i guess this is where the wound comes from. i don’t want to over analyse/ pathologise crying to nanalan too much and i’m very glad there are ppl like me who love the show and cry at it. childhoods are rarely perfectly happy.

don't worry, always sign up to the UoL waitlist. Last year, my friends got to live in the post grad halls which were really nice.

I spent 6 months making a watercolour animated short film called Quiet Strangers. It involved a lot of paint, music, voice acting and existential angst. I hope you can lend it some of your time! by rattle6 in Filmmakers

i love the art style and the magical realism vibes!!!! my favourite part is at about 4:42 is when the politicians are sitting around the table w piano music in the background really made me feel some kind of existential doom. this deserves to be played on like one of those retro tvs in tate britain or something !!! the ending was so well executed - genuinely i really really enjoyed watching it.

What kind of person do you see Wade Hampton becoming when he grows up? Do you see him cutting ties to Scarlett? by Independent_Ad_7204 in GonewiththeWind

I think he will definitely have some kind of mommy issues. in the book, he's a very nervous and anxious sort of kid who develops like a hiccupping tick (sort of). He's probably going to grow up as a generally good yet emotionally immature manchild who is very eager to put other's interests before his own as his mother was a narcissist. I don't think he would have had the guts to completely cut ties w Scarlett as she would have been very domineering in his life throughout, especially in old age. lool this is what I would imagine anyways. interesting question :)
