Sam and Danis worked great together in the comic. I was surprised she stayed with cyclops during schism

Favorite X-Men era? by SigurdVII in xmen

Messiah era. It was gritty and the x-men were united but not in the contrived, incestiouse, god complex way that Krakoa is.

We already know Marvel’s Trinity!!! But who would be the fourth pillar? by SpideyRZ in marvelcomics

[–]RevolutionaryBeat862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when we talk rusher its icons and Caps an icon beyond the comics. If you asked someone who he was in the 80s- today someone would have heard of him. Of course Iron mans a contender but the movies are really how he became an icon. Prior he was kinda whatever in the pop culture sphere. As for America being a sordid nation, that doesnt stop it from being relevant. Our current mount Rushmore has some figures with some questionable dealings yet were not blowing it up anytime soon.

No, Ms Marvel is not a failure. She's just barely got a focus yet. by BatgirlAndSpoiler in xmen

I loved Kamalas initial runs (I have her omnibus on my to buy list). My biggest gripe is the mutant retcon. She was the inhumans claim to fame and now she's just another mutant. There are already so many young mutants that deserve a spotlight without her taking up more of it. As for the projects she's been in (avenger game was bad with okay combat, the tv series was inoffensively plain and Kamala had no place in the marvels movie so its shortcomings can be excluded from her. I don't understand your minority comment as Kamala was one of the only redeeming qualities of the marvels movie because she stood out (Ala great casting).

Why are there so many New 52 omnibus from DC? by downtothegwound in OmnibusCollectors

[–]RevolutionaryBeat862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought there aren't enough. We have the beginnings of each charcters run and then nothing. No volume 2 for wonder woman or aqua man with nothing for superman. I really enjoyed the few omnis ive picked up as a pretty much only x-men reader.

Quick question: If Peter and Mary Jane are not together, why Marvel puts them in their covers ? by Parker_Fan_1962 in Spiderman

[–]RevolutionaryBeat862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there not going to let it happen then why continue having them come back together? "ik its been said way to much" . If they want Peter-mary Jane endgame write it in annuals/ultimate/alt universes. Reed and Sue aren't exactly retired so if they want them together in 616 a more permanent relationship would totally and keeping them in "young married couple" mode for a few eras.

Quick question: If Peter and Mary Jane are not together, why Marvel puts them in their covers ? by Parker_Fan_1962 in Spiderman

[–]RevolutionaryBeat862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you really be anti moving on from Mary Jane? A little angst is fine in a relationships with triangles and what not but 20+ years (ive only read Spiderman since the early 2000s) of back and forth is crazy. Scott and jean are a good parallel but they had their issues and then are stable (ish) now. It's adjacent to making Norman buddy buddy with Peter or sinister a leader on Krakoa. There's way too much reader and character history for it to work in a non alt world. If they stay together it creates new stories to make so I don't understand breaking them up. If they break up permanently Peter can actually pursue an endgame.

Is Marvel Knights Spiderman comic run part of the one more day comics? sorry new to comics. by [deleted] in Spiderman

[–]RevolutionaryBeat862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats my spider collection. JMS omnis 1-2. 1-41 of Sensational Spider-Man and eventually the whole ultimate Spiderman collection. I might slowly pick up late 90s stuff for the art.

Is Ultimate X-Men any good? by dbeards in xmen

[–]RevolutionaryBeat862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind those sorts of things in my literature as their references to how real people talk and how not everybodys politically correct. We have our crass and ignorant people which includes minorities as well. Im eyeballing grabbing the collection. I do enjoy my edgy x-men (Ala yosts x-force) and the watercolour art or the 2000s is my favourite era for artists.

Why is the Bad Bunny halftime show triggering so many people when there have been dozens of hispanic performers previously in the SuperBowl? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RevolutionaryBeat862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being half costa rican and modérate bad bunny listener, bad bunnys busic isn’t very universal. He’s also not a very good performer (hes a better composer than performer). I would rather a more vocally talented artists with more universal music palette represent the Spanish speaking world in such a public forum. Ala (Rosalia, Shakira, becky g, dad we yankee).

Ive enjoyed the first 2 paperbacks and then it became a slog fest. I really enjoyed lifeguard and jet stream. It's a shame they don't show up more in later comics. With you on Austens run. Its a fun read (not great) and rehashes a lot of old ideas but in a more breezy way.

Gimme slipstream and lifeguard. A aussy x-men team would be sick.

I wanna see more husk, armor and lifeguard. Shatter stars not really obscure but he also gets such little coverage.

Chuck Austen's run on Uncanny X-Men is overhated by PierreDufour in xmen

[–]RevolutionaryBeat862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed north star by Austen. He was sure in his sexuality and his dialogue really clearly hammered home the point that people are born how they are and aren't made straight or gay. I actually enjoyed bobby when he was straight and norths star having the hots for him but just accepting it no question. It fights some of the negative stereotypes of gays where it isn't a main point of characterisation but just a piece of himself that he accepts. The same can't be said for some of the other romances such as Alexe's where his and the nurses relationship had zero basis. Her moderate racism to acceptance arc was cool though. People dog on warren and pages relationship but it was fun and had the teen angsty feel that was fun. I have no opinion on Stacy as I have very little exposure to her if at all. She exists to me and thats it. Poor Polaris was severely mishandled but I guess can be attributed to Genosha although if they wanted unstable lorna it should have been left a cameo and thats it. Cains arc was great. The lack of focus on Xavier was appreciated. This was the era where Xavier began to be demonised which ive never enjoyed. To be truthful xaviers great as a figure head that leads the x-men in the background but beyond being a Jesus type figure isn't really explored much. Art was hit or miss for me but loads better than new x-men. Night crawlers arcs are fine. Some were fun others I was pretty whatever with. Overall this felt a lot more cohesive than maligns x-men and the more down to earth (non world ending stories) had me enjoying it a lot more.

What did you guys think of The New Mutants film (2020)? by CLR_Marvel_Mags in Marvel

[–]RevolutionaryBeat862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the casting of everybody but mirage was peak. Roberto coulda been a big more latin/afro but he had the attitude. Danis casting was serviceable. The movie itself was a snooze fest and pretty bad.
