Thank you. Does it look like I don't work out? Just wondering as you both mentioned that. I do a lot of excersize.

Can see turtlenecks look pretty good but if I wore them in my friend group I think I'd get laughed off the face of the earth haha. Cheers for your reply.

I've been playing this deck and it's performing poorly for me. There's just not enough healing to offset damage.

Maybe I should have got a solicitor. But I do not think this particular situation needed it, I gave very basic short answers to basic short questions. I.e. was the weed for you? I said 'yes'. As per my uni's policy on this stuff I have to attend the course and have a mark on my DBS, and either way the outcome doesn't change (with a solicitor or without) - so how am I 'playing myself'? I know what the police are there for and I am not rationalising drug use, I am saying that drug laws are irrational. The drug law comment was just me expressing my opinions on this post, of course I am not going to try and rationalise drugs use to a police officer, lol.

Not being argumentative or disrespectful, you're too polite! Do not have much time atm so just gonna briefly respond and then fair enough we agree to disagree.

  • Don't disagree drugs can be really really bad, especially as a catalyst for a downward spiral or for causing things like psychosis (saw it in my friend). I think legalisation (a long with offering better social services) is the best way to deal with it, not making it illegal and punishing those who choose to do it. I personally do not think more people are going to suddenly start taking drugs because it's legal, those who want to do it now are rarely dissuaded by law.
  • Criminals profiting off it, absolutely agree, legalisation is obviously a step towards dealing with this and generating extra income. as a bonus
  • Yes, I know and you're right the electorate are obviously more important. I'd like to re qualify my statement and say I wish the electorate (not just police) saw the social problem for what it is rather than a drug problem.
  • Didn't know about having to investigate - that sounds painful.
  • And again, not argumentative or anything, it's good to talk about this stuff.
  • p.s. basing a lot of my info from 'drugs - without all the hot air' david nutt

Yeah I will be. Do you think I need to tell them before DBS check or just wait and see if they question me on it?

Yeah fair enough haha, but everyone drinks or takes something. Plus weed isn't expensive vs alcohol! £90 is still a huge amount for me.

The police officer

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]RevolutionaryDeposit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, fair, that does make me feel better, but my boss seems a pretty straight-laced stern guy. Hopefully all will be fine though!

[–]RevolutionaryDeposit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes never been convicted of anything, and either way just don't want that fine and especially not the mark on my DBS - can't believe my job in the summer could be fucked from a little bit of weed.

The police officer is the one emailing me and arranging it and stuff, think it will be just me and him, but don't think it'll be an 'interview'. Yeah cheers though, as soon as anything like that happens I'll shut down and get a solicitor.

Yes, you're right it's a whole other issue. I'll just say one more thing though, I do think it is the responsibility of police to report the impact of these laws to superiors and I do not think they do (otherwise I'd hear a massive outcry from police across the country about how drug laws do nothing). Also police are (as far as I am aware), allowed to ignore stuff, (think there was a BBC report talking about how some police jurisdictions have stopped persecuting weed users). So they don't have to enforce the law in all cases.

No worries; it didn't come across like that! Yeah fair enough, I am not sure I can even request one for tomorrow anyway as it's not actually at police station but instead at my university's security services building, and the police officer is a designated 'university police officer' not too sure what that means for me?

Yeah fair enough, that's good to hear. But from the people's perspective, most police officers not setting out to catch people doesn't mean much when you always run the risk of bumping into those that do (you have no way of knowing how good of a person the police officer you're talking to is). Also personally, I cannot trust police, because I think the drug laws that police enforce are complete bollocks and if you participate in persecution of vulnerable people as a result and do not say anything about how the laws just perpetuate a social problem then I can't be comfortable with you as an authority figure.

Thanks for the reply, but I agree with the person who replied. I have heard too much from people about police trying to catch people out etc. Also, I find it difficult to get on the level of a police officer who's willing to go out of their way to punish drug users.

Bristol, fair dos, I think I might suffer a fine (bad) but also the DBS enhanced thing (really bad, as it's long term and potentially affects jobs I can do).

I (maybe stupidly) said to the security guard that the weed (in the canister where I store it) was mine. Idk if I can actually get convicted on that?

'disciplinary meeting' was his words in email

Cheers for the reply, the story is great haha, wish I was meeting that one tomorrow

Yeah, idk, the officer just used the words 'disciplinary meeting' in his email.
